“It Floated Down Like Kleenex…Many people handled the strange metallic-appearing debris that littered Mac Brazel’s ranch after the crash of the spacecraft. They were all astonished at the bizarre qualities of the small samples they managed to get their hands on. Major Jesse Marcel said ‘[There were] many bits of metallic foil that looked like, but was not, aluminum, for no matter how often one crumpled it, it regained its original shape. Besides that, they were indestructible, even with a sledgehammer.’ William Brazel Jr. (son of Mac Brazel) said, ‘The odd thing about this foil was that you could wrinkle it and lay it back down and it immediately resumed its original shape. It was quite pliable, yet you couldn’t crease or bend it like ordinary metal. It was almost more like a plastic of some sort except that it was definitely metallic in nature. I don’t know what it was, but I do know that Dad once said that the Army had told him that they had definitely established it wasn’t anything made by us.’ Don Burleson (Roswell researcher) said, ‘Brazel set the object up at the base of a pinyon tree and suggested that they fire at it—which they did—with 30.06 deer rifles from a distance of about thirty feet, an easy target for experienced deer hunters. Mr. Croft (Phillip Croft, hunting companion of Mac Brazel) said that when the foil was hit, it spun a considerable distance up in the air and came floating down ‘like Kleenex.’ Upon examining the material, the men found that it showed no effects from having been hit—not even a dent, and certainly no tears or punctures.’ The Battelle ‘Second Progress Report’ to Wright-Patterson is basically a review of Battelle’s effort to develop just such a metal as was reported by the Roswell witnesses. Although there is no direct reference to the Roswell crash in the Report, there are so many personnel links and clues to ongoing UFO research at Battelle that there can be very little doubt that the document was a report on a contract with the AAF to duplicate the metal found at Roswell.”

“High school basketball coach Bone was no believer in UFOs — at least not before the night of February 21 when with two team managers and three of his players he was returning home along U.S. Highway 60 near Ellsinore, Mo., about 20 miles south of Piedmont. They were in poor spirits after losing a crucial tournament game by seven points and were rehashing their defeat. Suddenly Bone, who was driving, noticed a “bright shaft of light beaming down out of the sky.”
A few miles later as the car passed through the Brushy Creek area, player Randal Holmes noticed something else. “Look!” he shouted. “There’s that thing we saw back on Highway 60!” Bone pulled over to the side of the road and the six piled out.
It looked like it was about 200 yards off the road hovering over an open field,” Bone said later. (Investigators from the International UFO Bureau (IUFOB) of Oklahoma City later estimated the object probably was about 400 feet above the ground.) “it was impossible to determine the size or shape because of the darkness. Anyway, we saw four lights that looked like portholes: red, green, amber and white. We figured they were about three or four feet apart, all in a row.”
“We just stood there and watched it for about 10 minutes,” Cary Barks, another witness, added. “Then all of a sudden the lights went directly up in the air with absolutely no noise and just disappeared over a hill.

It was about 500 feet east of us and about 100 feet high as silhouetted against the trees. It was the size of a mid-sized American car. The exterior glowed orange red in color and had ‘windows’ showing a yellow light from inside. There was no discernible sound.”

“In paragraph 17 of the Motion, Ms. Ciota alleges that Broder & Orland violated Rule 3.4 of Rules of Professional Conduct. Ms. Ciota quoted several parts of the rule including how it was unlawful to obstruct a party’s access to evidence and fail to be reasonably diligent to comply with a discovery order (remember all of those continuances asked for to produce financial documents?).”

The time: during the 1970s. The Place: the UFO Study Group of Greater St. Louis. The event: the Study Group had opened an Animal Mutilations Committee to study the bizarre rash of animal mutilations across the globe, often accompanied by strange aerial objects in their happening. I was the Director. Here are some kaleidoscopic stories from that period. Many of these reports are produced here for the first time..
PART I
The Saga Had Begun
“To achieve such a feat would require molecular-specific surgical devices capable of going through skin, cartilage, muscle, bone an organs to remove tissue from a specific organ without causing any cutting damage to the rest of the body — an impossibility on Earth, although a hypothesized innovation in the distant future. In all, there are over 10,000 documented instances of animals being bewilderingly mutilated in the US alone since 1955 — and in every case that has been investigated by law enforcement, no human or predator has ever been found to be the culprit.”
Outrageous phantom killers have gripped the imagination of men for centuries; be they fictionalized accounts such as Bran Striker’s 1897 humanoid-bat DRACULA (vampires allegedly would eat dead bodies [necrophagism] and mutilate corpses to induce sexual excitement [necrosadism]), or the actual 1888 phantom ”lady butcher” of London, Jack the Ripper. But even brasher than more popular episodes of California’s Zodiac Killer or the Charles Manson massacre, there has been raging animal mutilations that would put these historical perversions to shame.
From one end of America to the other, including foreign countries of Sweden, Puerto Rico, Africa, and Canada, cattle, dogs, sheep, chickens and other types of animals have been found with their sexual organs skillfully removed, limbs taken by mysterious surgeons, udders, eyeballs, ears, and heads butchered. In many cases, the blood had been drained leaving little or none in the bodies. In one case, no incision could be found in a dog whose heart was missing.
In Puerto Rico, long teeth-like incisions had been in bloodless bodies of chickens, sheep, dogs, and cattle. Hearts were taken from cattle in Sweden.
TYPICAL MUTILATIONS EVERYWHERE
Unusual animal deaths had been noted in the past. Snippy, a pet horse belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Berle Lewis, was found near Alamosa, Colorado on September 7, 1967. Every shred of flesh was missing from the animal’s neck and skull. A perfectly smooth, precisely cut area was above the neck bone, which also was protruding from the center. No blood was found. A three-foot-tall Chico bush had been crushed within three inches of the ground. For a 10-foot radius around the bush, the sandy ground appeared to have been smoothed out. A Geiger counter indicated radioactivity around the dead animals. Later, Mrs. Lewis ’s boots were found to have been contaminated from radioactivity and palm of her had begun to turn red and a burning sensation after touching Snippy. Fifteen tapering, circular “marks” were found in the area and more flattened brush. Six indentations were found two-inches across, four-inches deep, and formed a circle in diameter.
Similarly, in 1975, Dr. Rodney Walker, zoo veterinarian of the Cheyenne Mountain zoo, discovered a mutilated bison. The bison’s udder, right ear, and sex organs had been removed with surgical skill.
A calf was found five miles south of Glenwood, Colo., and the tongue and rectum had been surgically removed. There were absolutely no tracks. The calf was 600 yards from the corral containing the mother. There was no way the animal would have walked through the new alfalfa without leaving a track, except where the animal went down.
Francis Cook of Yoder lost two spring bull calves of about 400-pounds. Their blood had been drained and their sex organs are taken with no sign of blood in the vicinity. The tail also was cut from one of them.
A 1200-1300-pound Hereford cow was found southeast of Sterling with the tongue cut out, lower jaw peeled away, and the rectal area of the animal mutilated. Another 600-pound animal was killed and two patches of skin were cut away. The rectal area has been mutilated. A patch of hide and skin were found which showed definite cut marks of some sort as if cut at an angle. A pregnant heifer found three miles west of Kiowa, Texas had similar cuts. Its rectal area and udder had been cut out in a “really professional job.” It is suspected that the heifer may have been taken away and mutilated and then the carcass was brought back.
Sheriff Harry L. Graves of Logan County, Colo., was particularly perplexed by a cow whose teeth had been taken by surgical precision. “We’ve had two previous mutilations where one or two teeth have been pulled but we found them in the animal’s mouth, Graves said. “On this one, all the teeth had been cut out with a sharp instrument and we couldn’t find them anywhere.”
Sheriff Graves reported a number of unusual attacks. One mutilated calf was found with radar chaff stuffed inside its mouth. Some chaff was found on the ground along with a small, silver-colored chaff box coded RR112/AL on the top of the box. Major Keck of the Air Force later replied that the number was no code used by the Air Force.
Equally mysterious, Graves reported that a number of autopsied mutilated calves had also succumbed to rare diseases such as peritonitis. In several cows, bacteria of the Clostridium genus were found. In a few cases, clostridia infection was reported to be the cause of death.
Two cows found in Park County “couldn’t possibly have been where they were found unless they had been dropped from aircraft,” according to Sheriff Norman Howey. The two cows were half of a mile apart in different pastures than the one their owner left them in. “There were no strange tracks or footprints,” Sheriff Howey said. “On top of that, the gate was padlocked.” One cow’s bladder had been “popped” out of its body as if the rectum had been excised from the pressure of the fall.
Sheriff George Yarnell of Elbert County spoke of a typical case where a cow was found with the udder neatly cleaned out leaving only the skin which was tightly packed with several gallons of sand. The teats had been neatly snipped off and arranged in order on the leg.
Forty sheep were found near Leadville, Colorado “riddled with holes.” A sheep rancher said one of his herders told him that an “Army-colored” helicopter flew over one of his herds and sprayed the animals with bullets.
TEXAS
Texas likewise had its share of the bizarre as a few typical cases had revealed. The carcass of an expertly skinned dog was strung by its hind legs to a barbed wire fence, the blood had been drained and its genitals removed.“It was an excellent job of skinning,” he said. “No flesh was torn. There was no remaining hide. Even the ears had gone off the carcass with the hide. Even the ears had gone off the carcass with the hide. The tail section also was stripped of any hide. It’s just a very peculiar situation.” There was no sign of footprints or disturbances.
A calf found north of Sulphur Springs had been split open on the underside from about six inches back of the udder right through the udder, with two teats on one side and two on the other, clean to the brisket between the front legs.
‘The calf had been removed and the womb took out,” rancher Pete Long said. “Half the womb was removed and half pitched over the calf. Then I walked around and noticed the head was cut off and I haven’t seen any trace of it since then.”
A cow found on the Ray Goad farm had the udder and all the surrounding skin gone, removed by a very sharp instrument. The tongue had been also removed and was cut far back in the mouth. All blood vessels and veins were devoid of blood. Only a teaspoon full of clotted blood was found on one side of the heart and a few clots on the underside of the animal.
A large cow was found near Tyler with its seven-month-old fetus removed, and its vulvas and tongue also took. No blood was found around the carcass. Another cow found near Graham had a hole torn in the carcass and the sexual organs pulled out and cut off. Part of the organs was taken from the scene, but the others were left aligned in a neat row by the animal’s stomach. Similarly, a cow found on the Albert Johnson farm had its muzzle cut out along with the tongue in heart-shaped cut and removed in one piece. Four teats were cut off next to an undeveloped udder of the heifer and a perfect circle had been carved under the tail to remove the vagina and rectum together.
The carcasses of two heifers and a horse had been found in the Spring-Cypress Road area. A male calf was found on a ranch five miles northwest of Katy, and Montgomery County officials reported two mutilated cattle. A pig’s head was found on the edge of the Conroe city limits near Stewart Creek. A mutilated heifer was found lying in the center of a perfect-circle near whitespace. The sex organs were gone, and a ‘perfect-circle’ was found by the navel. A similar circle was found in a dead animal a quarter-mile away. Both ‘circles’ were slightly radioactive.

OKLAHOMA
.
Oklahoma had its share of butchering by what could be called the Dracula Clan. A 700-pound cow found the Charles Collins place had its udder removed by a sharp instrument. Muggs Fox, a highway patrolman, said: “It appeared to be pretty smooth cut.”
A whiteface cow on the Le Roy Schimmel farm had all its sex organs, udder, eyes, and tongue removed. Radiation was detected at the site. A calf examined by a Hugo veterinarian who said: “the work was done on the animal with a knife or a very sharp instrument.” The calf’s left eye had been cut out, both ears cut off, the tongue slashed, the rectum cut and other slashes inflicted. An opening the size of a football had been cut in the three-week-old calf’s navel. Herman Hatch’s calf had its tail severed and its intestines lay near the animal. The calf had a one-foot gash from the rectum downward and its right leg was broken.

NEW MEXICO
.
New Mexico had a similar case where radiation was detected. Manual Gomez discovered one of his cows mutilated near Dulce, New Mexico: Its udder and anus had been removed “with a sharp instrument.” Similar to the ‘Snippy” case, tripod-like tracks were discovered nearby and a radiation check found an abnormal amount of radiation in some of those tracks. A yellow substance was also found near the tripod-tracks. Nearby shrubs appeared to be scorched and dying. Wild predators refused to approach the cow. A calf that the cow had been nursing was missing.

WYOMING
.
Another typical case was a mutilated cow found on the Raymond Jones farm near Newcastle, Wyoming. The udder had been removed except for one nipple, and the lower lip of the animal had two definite cut marks made by a sharp instrument. The middle of the lips had been taken; the tongue was completely removed. Interestingly, off to the side of the animal was a circle two feet in diameter and the grass at the spot was a bright yellow. “It was almost a perfect circle,” Sheriff Willis Larson said.

WASHINGTON
.
Cases have been reported in the state of Washington. A mutilated cow was found on the Don Larsen farm in Machias, Washington. The left eye was missing. There was a circular five-inch incision made in the anal area. The rectum and colon had been excised. There was no sign of struggle, though burn marks could be seen. The incisions appeared to have been neatly made.

MISSOURI
.
A veterinarian near Salem examined a mutilated goat whose blood had been drained and was possibly anesthetized with a needle into one of the arteries. The udder was removed by a single stroke of a very sharp instrument. There were no lacerations in the cut skin—and no blood was on the ground in the area. The butcher showed a high degree of animal anatomy.

MONTANA
.
Two mutilated cows were found on a ranch near Belt, Montana. One cow had its bag, teats rectal area and reproductive organs removed, making it possible to look completely through the bag area and out the rectal opening. The hide had been cut with a very sharp instrument and displayed serrations similar to those created with pinking shears. A mutilated cow near Utica had its testicles and the cords removed. However, several stones, weighing as much as six or seven pounds each, had been removed from a rock pile and turned over and moved about. A filmy white substance eventually covered the cow. It looked like a cobweb; it was analyzed and found to be petroleum distillate. In another case, a bull calf was found to have a hole drilled in the back of its head and the brains removed.
A mutilated cow found near Stockett also had a white filmy substance on the cow’s neck. Extensive tests failed to identify the substance. A mutilated Shetland pony found in Teton County had all its organs removed and two puncture wounds were discovered in the horse’s bruised throat. There was no blood in the body except for two small vials that were recovered. A mutilated cow near Belt was found in a plowed field but no dirt was disturbed and none of the furrows smashed down. Two teats were cut off and the rectal area removed. An incision found under the right leg by a veterinarian who said the opening led all the way to the heart.

MINNESOTA
.
In Minnesota, a number of cases appeared. A horse belonging to Luane Johnson had numerous knife wounds; one ear removed as well as the sex organs. A 400-pound heifer belonging to Frank Schiefelbein near Kimball was found with the eyes, left ear, tongue, and part of the lip taken, and the animal was lying in a perfect circle of bare ground in a snow-covered field in which no footprints could be found anywhere in the area. There was only a meager 20 c.c.s of blood left in the carcass. In another part of Meeker County, a mutilated pig was found inside a barn that had the usual cuts. The owner said his yard-light had gone out for about 20-minutes and then came back on.
Sheriff Keith Hansen of Carbon County, Utah investigated a case in which the jaw, tongue, heart, and lung were taken from a cow and the blood drained. A University of Utah medical examiner said the incisions looked as if they were made by a laser beam.
Frequent reports of helicopters and low-flying planes in mutilation vicinity suggested a possible connection. But in many cases, though the aircraft appeared to be conventional, a close inspection revealed very unconventional behavior.

It’s Christmas 1940, and Everytown resident John Cabal (Raymond Massey) fears that war is imminent. When it breaks out, the war lasts 30 years, destroying the city and ushering in a new dark age of plagues and petty despots. But there is hope in the form of Wings over the World, a group of pacifist scientists and thinkers led by Cabal. Their dream is to build a Utopian society on the ruins of the old. But first, they’ll have to unseat the latest ruling tyrant (Ralph Richardson). Things to Come (Motion picture, April 17, 1936).
The Carol Werkmeister family discovered a mutilated cow on their farm on November 12, 1974. The cow had typical cuts. It was during a conversation with sheriff deputy Bernard Staib that unmarked helicopters in the area were mentioned. Mrs. Werkmeister said they had been visited by one strange copter on November 13 about 8:35 p.m. as it moved very slowly over their farm. They later discovered other neighbors had been buzzed by the copter; the navigational lights didn’t seem in the accepted positions. Sheriff Staib previously tried to track these helicopters through airports and air bases but with no luck.
During April 1975, a mutilated Angus cow was found on the Chester Gourley farm in Carrollton, Illinois. The left ear had been removed. The left rear and left front teats were amputated. The left rear and left front teats were amputated. The anterior tip of the tongue had also been cut off. The left eyeball was punctured.
Gourley mentioned a strange motor sound the night before and also mentioned that relatives in nearby Brighton had reported mysterious helicopters the week before.
Phillis Beutell and her son Randy witnessed an unmarked utility helicopter that came out of a field of Angus cattle. Several weeks before the mutilation, the copter buzzed the whole area and was witnessed by neighbors Alf Wilson, Clifford Beilsmith and Ralph Macaffe. Macaffe said the occupants of the copter wore heavy sunglasses and were smiling mischievously when they swooped down and buzzed the cows. When Randy counted heads a day later, one cow was missing. The Wilsons also remarked that a large unmarked white cargo-type helicopter was seen earlier to have taken off from the Beuttel property and then disappeared.
James Stevenson of Meadowlark farm near Percy, Illinois, reported daytime sightings of unmarked helicopters buzzing his property. Sheriff Louis Layton said the southern Illinois area had numerous reports of “green helicopters with no markings” three days prior to the discovery of missing cattle in the area. Copters were seen going northwest and also near Red Bud, Illinois.
Likewise, Margaret Stone reported a helicopter sound that scared her cattle at Jonesboro, Illinois. It lasted for 30-minutes. She also heard the noise of a truck starting and changing gears about six times, as if hauling a heavy load.
A rancher who lives about 16-miles northeast of Kiowa, Colorado, saw a red-white helicopter land about a quarter-mile from his house on a high knoll, but it took off before the farmer could get to it. A heifer belonging to Jim Russell had been mutilated and the blood drained. They had looked for the cow days before, but suddenly it was found. “I’d been by that spot several times,’ said Mrs. Russell, “and you’d think I would have seen her.” The animal’s neck was twisted and a hind leg was broken “as if she had been dropped.” Coyotes wouldn’t touch the animal.
The Cascade County, Montana Sheriff’s Department had received reports of several such copters. The wife of a former deputy reported that she heard a machine noise approaching one night; it became very loud as if it were located in their backyard. Two beams of light came into the room where she was babysitting and lit up the entire room: one red beam and one white. Then the noise dropped to a lower patch and the lights went out. The family dog didn’t bother to bark. A neighbor reported that next day that he had also seen the series of red lights that flashed near the ground and then go out. Three days later a lady near Belt reported that a helicopter flew over her house at tree-top-level and circled her sheep. The craft was navy blue with yellow lettering.
Deputy Arne Sad of Fort Shaw heard a helicopter sound in September of 1975 as he drove west of Great Falls. He stopped the car to look but was unable to see anything. The sound passed directly over him, but he could see no copter.
A ranch couple later reported a copter near Chouteau which turned off its lights and flew away. Ten days later several helicopters with spotlights were reported flying over missile sites near Lewistown. No official agency reported copters out in that area. Undersheriff Jim Shelton of Judith Basin County also reported two mutilated cows in his area and he also reported that unidentified helicopters had been seen about the same time. One cow had apparently been killed between 3:30 and 4 p.m. A green chopper had also been seen circling the area between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Two choppers were reported running together at night–and yellow, green and silver choppers with no numbers had also been reported.
A man camping in Moose Creek Canyon southeast of Great Falls said a helicopter came through the canyon so low that it vibrated his mobile trailer, but he couldn’t see it. Similarly, a man in Teton County said that he and his two sons watched a helicopter hover over his cattle one evening but there was no noise. The craft had red and blue lights.

PHANTOM AIRCRAFT

Phantom aircraft with flight maneuvers similar to helicopters were observed within the vicinity of Minuteman missile sites. Chouteau and Teton Counties had similar reports. But none of the objects appeared on Air Force radar screens. Malmstrom Air Force Base did scramble jet fighters in an unsuccessful attempt to identify the objects. The copters were flying in very windy conditions.
“Dan” witnessed a large helicopter about to land. On its side was a large silver star; the copter had many windows. “It was like a flying boxcar,” said “Dan,” and he and his father witnessed the copter rise and disappear.
Mr. and Mrs. Cromwell of Tujunga., California witnessed a helicopter that rose over a nearby canyon. Several people watched the copter that rose to about 1,200 feet, and the saw a bright object above the copter: an object of vari-colored lights with a top of vibrant blue-green, a middle of white and the bottom, a glowing red. The copter changed shape from round to diamond to chevron and then into a classic saucer shape. The copter sped off–then two copters returned about 11:00 p.m. flying in tandem. The object disappeared in the west and so did the choppers.
Usually, where animals are mutilated, a host of Fortean or “odd” phenomena occur: flying saucers, UFOs, hairy monsters, mystery aircraft, strange cat, and even strange people and creatures are seen.

UFOs, MYSTERY AIRCRAFT, ODD PHENOMENA

When an oval-shaped object was seen hovering over a field in Enfield, Connecticut at 9:30 a.m. on March 4, 1975, a helicopter was also reported flying close to the object which emitted blue, green, and red light. No one could identify the copter.
When Ray Hawks sighted a UFO at Boulder, Colorado, reportedly in trouble as it wobbled in the air, a helicopter made an appearance. The object appeared to be two concave discs of dull aluminum that rectified its problem and disappeared into the clouds. Later, a supposed Air Force helicopter came to the spot, and a military colonel and a major were alleged to have told Hawks to tell the newspapers that the UFO would return. Hawks said that he would appear to be crazy if he said such a thing, but the military men insisted he should tell of the incident “to prevent public panic.”
When a UFO “flap” occurred in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia in 1966, a large ape-like “bird,” labeled the Mothman, occurred along with reports of flying bats and strange persons. Lonnie McDaniel reported stories of animal deaths:
“In all cases, some internal organs had been removed—but never was there an incision or scar of injury.
“A dog was handed into the police station. It had been found dead but with no injuries. When it was examined, its heart was found to be missing—but there was no incision, no sign of surgery. Its heart was just gone.”
UFOs often take an interest in animals. John Beer of Larnel, Kansas reported a large white light about 9:00 p.m. on February 1972 which hovered over the cattle corral on his farm. The object eventually disappeared. The next day the two bottom wires on the corral were found to be busted, and the milk cows had burned spots or ‘circles’ on them. Similarly, Kevin, Bevin and Curtis Ercanbrach reported a UFO inspecting a dead cow from the air in the Uintah Basin area of Nevada.
When an extremely bright UFO was reported in Wanaque, New Jersey on October 11, 1966, upon its disappearance another variety of UFO appeared:
“There were aircraft all over the place after this thing disappeared. But nobody know where they came from,” said Police Sargent Ben Thompson.“There were seven helicopters and, I would say, ten or twelve jets.
“They were very fast aircraft—and they kept circling the whole area. Stewart Air Force Base, which is the closest to the area, claims that they didn’t send anybody down here. No planes or anybody. Nothing.”
A high radiation reading was later discovered in the area. A “government investigator” made an appearance at the local high school and instructed witnesses that they saw no jets and helicopters. There wasn’t any official record of such a man, and the source of the aircraft could not be discovered.
When mutilated cattle were discovered in Fremont, Blaine, Nez Perce, Bonneville, Adams and other counties in Idaho, people began to speculate that helicopters reported being the blame. Sheriff Terry Thompson and Deputy Craig Rinehart doubted copters were used because the noise could be heard for five miles, and their office had no helicopter reports. However, Thompson did report that three or four UFOs had been seen in the Junipers north of the Elgin Snake River bottoms and west of Chester. Other farmers reported low-flying, high –winged planes over the Wilford area. The farmers reported that only low-winged planes are used for crop dusting.
A mysterious black helicopter plagued a trailer court in the Elizabethtown of Pennsylvania during March of 1976. The Christina Lee family said a small, marked black helicopter buzzed the Nelson Trailer Court. A “low sound” helicopter was reported flying about the Charlie Firnekas farm near Midwest, Wyoming. Firnekas reported UFOs on several dates. Range detective Jim Zimmerschied said that cattle had been mutilated in the area. Zimmerschied said that a “mystery truck” with varied-lights moved through the woods. When mutilated cattle were found in the Cedar County area of Nebraska, mystery choppers were there also. “There have been nighttime sightings of helicopters, two of them verified,” said Sheriff Herbert Thompson.“We’ve had reports of night-landings too, although those have not been confirmed.”
Mutilated cattle were found within two to three days after the two confirmed helicopter sightings—one within half a mile of an area where the aircraft had been seen.
Two low-flying aircraft buzzed Robert Smith of the rural crescent, Iowa while he drove his tractor on his farm. One was a black twin-engine plane, and the other a white helicopter. Neither craft had serial numbers.
“They were close enough that I could see a guy get out of the helicopter and brace himself on a railing,” Smith said. “He was firing a handgun. I could see dirt fly from the bullets hitting the ground, so I put the tractor out of gear and dove to the ground.”
Airports had no data on the aircraft, though Smith said they both made numerous passes over his cornfield all spring.
Mark, Idaho was also visited by a mystery helicopter. One witness, Rev. Albert Lambeth, said: “Shortly before 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, I woke up when the intercom picked up a conversation. There was plenty of use of the Lord’s name in vain and a comment that something ‘is a damned shame.’
“I jumped out of bed, thinking there was a break-in at the station and called Farley. But when we got to the station, everything was normal. So we figured we had picked up a two-way radio signal—that’s happened before.” Farley and Lambeth recalled a “suspicious car” in town earlier that evening (Mark has a population of 20 people). They both drove out on Davis County Road, and about a mile southeast of town, they came across a “mystery helicopter.”
After a copter scarred cattle on the Francis Jones’s farm, the Iowa State Patrol tried to trail the copter, notifying the Missouri State Patrol that the craft was coming their way, but the copter never arrived.
Dan Richley of Lynchburg, Ohio noted a star-like object on September 26, 1974, about 10:00 p.m. that pulsated colors. Bother Walter Richley and son got into their white pickup truck and shinned a portable searchlight on the object. Suddenly, a red beam came down and engulfed them and the truck. The light disappeared over the horizon. Both pet dogs went crazy during the incident. The following night at 11:00 p.m. Dan heard a terribly loud noise outdoors near the barn.
A calf had died of seemingly natural causes on a Simms, Montana farm. After a few days, a UFO was observed hovering over the animal: a white bean-shaped object with a red top. The object turned upside down before it left the spot. It was later discovered that the calf had its udder surgically removed. The UFO returned the next day to again inspect the cow and finally disappeared.
Darlene Underwood and her mother observed two lights that buzzed a train on April 1, 1966 outside of Liberty, Missouri. One of the lights landed on a hill while the other circled, buzzing the train, and then hovered over a tree, dimming its ‘lights’ until the train was gone. The other object rose from the hill, and then both “ducked” behind the hill. Suddenly, both objects appeared again and ‘landed’ on the hill. Mrs. Underwood said she could hear two men shouting at each other in a foreign language. The sounds of a pig being butchered could also be heard. Both women were afraid to approach any closer; however, they could see the shadow of the men moving about.
A mutilated cow found on the Raymond Jones farm near Newcastle, Wyoming was accompanied by a circle two-foot in diameter to one side, and the grass was a bright yellow at the site. “It was almost a perfect circle,” Weston County Sheriff Willis Larson said. The next night a Newcastle woman reported seeing a flying object west of town; Larson and others saw it too within the mutilation vicinity. “It looked like an orange-colored light,” said Larson. “It was big in the front and tapered down.”
Mutilation areas, as pointed out, are not just UFO “hotbeds”—they are also hosted to strange phenomena.

“At one point there was supposed to be kind of an occult significance as to whether the left ear or the right ear was missing. People would look over what they thought were surgically precise cuts that were made on the side of the animal to see if they represented some kind of an occult symbol. And then you’ve got the quasi-scientific explanation, which is that these body parts are being biopsied, and they’re being moved by extraterrestrials. I think the UFO explanation now seems to have gotten somewhat old. Now maybe if I were out in the Great Plains, I would find a lot of people out there who were still talking about the “black helicopters.” The black helicopters were what the aliens used to commit the mutilations and biopsy the animals. And that generated a tremendous amount of rumors and beliefs, all because it was obvious that [the helicopters] were not made by humans because they were silent. A silent helicopter was obviously an alien spacecraft. I think that all of these will be seen against the ground of real suspicion of the federal government, because they all come with the proposition that the government knows a great deal more about what’s going on than they’re letting on, and the reason they’re not telling you why these mutilations are taking place is because they don’t want you to know.” Bill Ellis, Professor of English and American Studies at Penn State Hazelton, Modern Farmer, Andy Wright, September 11, 2014
When mutilated cattle were reported in the White Meadow Lake area of New Jersey, motorists traveling on Rural Route 15 during October of 1976 were horrified to see dozens of parts of dismembered cows. Heads and entrails were strewn on the roadway for more than a mile. Since the parts appeared near the truck-gate to the United States Army Picatinny Arsenal, the Army was ordered to clean themes up. The Army disavowed any ownership to the slaughter.
People in the area also reported hearing underground construction work and subterranean machinery. There was also the noise of a truck ascending a hill but “never reaching the top.” A housewife reported a loud, very low-flying helicopter in the area but the area was encompassed in a dense fog. Another resident reported truck sounds in the area going back several years. Beeps, baby cries, howls, unusual footprints, and giant creatures were also reported. One housewife told about a man driving his car to the edge of the woods and taking a sack from his car—removing two legs of a horse and tossing them into the woods before driving away. In the same area, a dead deer was found with its body “torn open.”
UFOs were replete throughout the area. One resident told about a triangular UFO silently moving and hovering above the tree line. They also observed brilliant flashes about the trees and houses on several evenings. Harmonized orange or white lights traveled across the sky on other evenings. One glowing light appeared to have landed but the spot could not be found.
Hairy monsters were seen several times. Two children were confronted by a hairy beast with bloody eyes near the White Meadow Lake. Teenagers saw the creature later about a quarter-mile away. Huge three-toed footprints were found. On another occasion, a towering greenish creature with scales was seen along Interstate 80.
In Montana mutilation territory, a large hairy creature was seen standing on the shoulder of Interstate 15 five-miles west of Great Falls. The creature was very wide at the shoulders, about eight-foot tall but didn’t leave any tracks. Leonard Hegele and family also saw a hairy creature off Interstate 15. Hegele gave chase but stopped when the creature stood to face him. Two creatures were reported east of Rainbow Dam along the river. Vaughn, Ulm, and other areas also had creature reports. The Tennessee area was permeated with “Big Foot” reports during 1976-1977, alongside UFO reports. One witness saw a creature with a rabbit in its mouth and a large Bob Cat as the creatures accompanying ‘pet.’ “MoMo,” the Louisiana, Missouri monster, stalked the area amid UFO reports in July 1972. In January 1975, a mutilated cow as found in nearby Foley, Missouri. The UFO Study Group of Greater St. Louis made numerous road-trips and Sky Watches; Steve Erdmann was a member on several occasions, and did, indeed, see UFOs.
Station wagons, jeeps, trucks that are never identified are also reported.
Clayton Dozier and some of his neighbors found a mutilated 300-pound bull calf on his farm—all three reproductive organs of the bull had been removed by what appeared to be a sharp instrument. Ainsworth, Nebraska investigators said the animal had a “petroleum substance” in its stomach. Interestingly, a helicopter had been reported refueling from a pickup truck in the area. The truck and copter were soon gone before anyone could apprehend them. On the afternoon of the 18th of March, 1977, an early model light-cream-colored vehicle was reported in the Machias, Washington area in which two men accompanied a Doberman Pincher. The slow-moving vehicle went around a corner and about 15-minutes later returned without the dog: the dog had been mutilated along Dubuque Road—cleanly severed in two behind the rib cage. The back legs and its back half could not be found. There was no evidence of blood and the chest cavity was clean and whitish in color.
In the northern part of the Mojave Desert of southern California, hairy beasts were reported to descend from UFOs in the summer of 1973. The UFOs were described as torpedo-shaped and glowing. The creatures were said to ‘amble off’ when they touched the ground. Later, on July 25, witnesses again tracked hairy creatures in the desert and flatlands area. This time, a convoy of blue trucks carrying military people came and herded a creature into one truck.
“The trucks, which from our vantage point, seemed to bear no identifiable markings, drove almost directly to the Joshua Grove, and the figures of men surrounded the area,” said one witness from the Western Society for the Explanation of the Unexplained. “A figure, apparently a man, was carrying a powerful light and moved in a hurried manner toward the creature. He seemed to make a violet back-and-forth motion with the light as if directing the creature to come to him.” The creature let out an anguished cry and entered the truck. Minutes later, several men swept the area with a flood light, and the witnesses then fled.
Following several mutilations in the Lindale, Texas area, law enforcement officers began looking for a later-model Ford Mustang with an antenna on top of the automobile. The vehicle also had a dealer’s tag. Three people were to have been seen in or near the auto by a motorist on Farm Road 16 east of Lindale. Two persons were seen across a fence in a pasture and, as the motorist stopped, they turned, facing the road—they appeared to be wearing white smocks and butcher’s aprons. One was reported to be carrying a machete-type knife and the other carrying what looked like a rifle. A third man rose up in the back seat of the car and faced the witnesses, at which point the motorist sped away.
Gerald Peterson of Viking Township, Minnesota found a mutilated cow on his property on the 27th of September, 1974. Approximately one week before the incident, Peterson noted a light-colored station wagon on a road near his property.
Boot prints, jeep tire marks, and gunshot wounds are also part of the mutilations.
Cattle found in Ottawa County Kansas had been hit with a high-powered rifle before it was mutilated. An 1100-pound Holstein found east of Roxbury, Kansas was mutilated and tire and boot prints in the snow were found a short distance away.
The mutilation scenario is replete with all variety and types of odd happenings.
Cattle found mutilated in a mud ditch with no signs of struggle or mud marks. Cattle dropped into ponds with broken legs, hammer marks on the bodies, scalpels left behind—and some kind of ceremonial site was found near Butte, Montana: an alter the sight had ISIS FAVOR US: MOTHER OF MOON, LOVER OF GOODNESS. Likewise, Tom Robinson, a Wilford, Idaho farmer found a white plague with black lettering and a temple-shaped object in its center on a telephone pole at the time of a ‘flap.’ A similar sign was found in Chester.
Two Forest Service guards in Blain County, Idaho watched cattle on the Forest Service property. One guard noted two men dressed in body-length-black-hooded robes walking about 50-yards from him. The taller of the two men carried a hog. Both men preferred to walk in the willows avoiding roads, and acted as if they wanted to avoid detection. The cattle in the area had become very quiet during this time.
In September of 1976, a boy was fishing alone on the Cheyenne River near Kindred, North Dakota and he spotted a figure dressed in a long white robe. Similar reports of persons dressed in black robes carrying candles along County Highway 46 were reported in North Dakota. White-robed people carrying candles ere reported in the Valley City area. Kindred Mayor Jerry Salveson told about a bull which died on the Rodney Lee farm unknown causes.
Two mystery men invaded a feedlot southwest of Sterling, Colorado in August of 1976, a previous mutilation site. Ranchers said: “They didn’t move like humans, they seemed to glide.” The sheriff was summoned but could find nothing—and no footprints could be found.
One of the most bizarre reports came from Arlen R. Box who said a helicopter came over a field near Henderson, Texas on a day when cattle had been mutilated. Box watched from his tractor as the coal-black copter “with no one at the controls” flew over him “like a bat out of hell.” Several days later as he drove his pickup, he witnessed a “black creature coming out of a pine grove—it seemed black,” he said, “and I swear, it had wings” because the creature flew up to the copter before the craft disappeared.
In almost every state and some foreign territories, Swamp Things, Wall Bangers, Night Screamers, Giant Lizards, Hairy Dwarves and other monsters are reported and animals killed. The phenomenon has persisted from the 1970s down to the present day.
TO THE PRESENT DAY
Listverse had an insightful article and chronology of the continued mutilations happening globally.
Writing for the New York Post, September 5, 2016, Ben Mezrich (following the investigations of Chuck Zuklowski), uncovered the strange consistency of mutilations over the years leading up to the current time:
“Even more terrifying, incidents like this had been going on for more than fifty years — this exact same scene had been witnessed and documented on ranches all over Colorado, as well as in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and many other places — decade after decade.
“What had occurred on Glenda’s 〈a farmer’s〉 ranch — as violent and horrifying as it was — was part of a phenomenon made up of more than ten thousand individual incidents, in a half-dozen states — all of them completely unexplained.”
Anna Hopkins of the Dailymail.com (June 29, 2017) concurred (following the investigations of researchers Christopher O’Brien and Linda Moulton Howe). Mutilations were discovered as recently as 2016 in Kansas. O’Brien points out that since 2002, about 4,000 mutilations were found just in South America.
Sputnik News (February 8, 2017) interviewed Chuck Zukowski who has been investigating the mutilations (along with Linda Howe and other investigators such as Nick Pope [formerly of the UK Ministry of Defense]), through to its present modern era, and discovered mutilations followed the same consistent pattern of bizarre mysteriousness today.
“The cattle mutilation mystery is extremely disturbing, and there are many different theories, including predator activity, Satanists, secret military experiments, and extraterrestrial activity. The theory about military involvement makes no sense, because government scientists already have a facility where animal testing is carried out, so they would have had no need to conduct additional, illegal testing. However, I was not able to find a definitive explanation during my government work,” Nick Pope told Sputnik.
In many modern cases artificial mutilations are evident, and in one or two cases, traces of materials were analyzed that might indicate chemical injections.
There are six broad theories as to who is behind the mutilations:
— A highly sophisticated and wealthy clan of Satanists, including the Central Intelligence Agency and other Deep State officials and professional people, including psychiatrists on down to farmers that are dedicated to bringing about the Biblical Armageddon.
— Our U.S government, possibly, along with other governments, are involved in psychological warfare on the citizenry. Theorists remind us of the recent disclosures about the Central Intelligence Agency’s involvement with Mind Control during the 1950s-1960s. The Army Missile Command was also awarded contracts in 1975 to develop laser weapons. HELAW (helicopter mounted laser weapons) were being built by Bell, Boeing, and TRW. INLAW (Infantry laser weapons) was another program. There have been many clandestine government programs. The late scientist Dr. Leon Davidson was an advocate of this theory that government intelligence agencies had a part in creating the UFO mystery. Some researchers, utilizing ‘all‘ the information, have suggested that a hidden“break-away society” is also behind this and involved in some kind of ‘alliance’ with the phenomena.

— The government is sponsoring secret germ warfare programs using livestock and other animals as a nationwide, even global, laboratory. Upon autopsy, many cattle were found infected with germs. If this theory is true, it has worldwide implications because mutilations were found, for example, in Puerto Rico where ducks, goats, rabbits, geese, cows, pigs, dogs, and cats were found mutilated (allegedly caused by a mythical creature from atomic experiments).
— Visitors from outer space using helicopters and other terrestrial craft as “disguises,” going about collecting animal tissues, limbs, and blood (also terrifying citizens for unknown reasons). A case is mentioned of a March 1967 UFO which chased a Red Cross bloodmobile driver Beau Shertzer near Huntington, West Virginia. An arm came down from the craft as it hovered over the mobile vehicle, and a nurse saw another arm with pincher-like devices. An oncoming auto scared the mechanical vampire away.
— A “specialized” version of haunting. The general abnormal phenomena that are possibly connected are but “ghost” phenomena or apparitions similar to what happens in poltergeist activity or séances and Spiritism. A sci-fi theory is that this activity is a manifestation of our subconscious taking control in a physical ‘format’ at times—and advocates point to the ID Beast from the book and movie THE FORBIDDEN PLANET.

Several deputies in one county decided to “stake out” 640 square acres during the night. Farmers and ranchers helped close off roads and set-up the required surveillance. Alternate communication systems were used so that calls could be monitored. All cars were stopped and checked in the back roads. When morning arrived, and nothing seemed to have happened, one deputy received a call from a farmer who found a mutilated horse near the center of the 640-acre “target section.” A quarter horse had been drained of blood with several puncture wounds in the chest. There were no tracks.

A NEW WORLD ORDER
What we have here may best be described, in the words of author Joseph Farrell[1], as the “enemy that is everywhere and nowhere.” Others have given it various titles, such as The New World Oder or the “Illuminati.” Adventofdeception.com, “The Illuminati Evil Earthly Organization,” describes it thus:

Marshall Karlfeldt explores the work of the late Zecharia Sitchin from The Earth Chronicles (Sitchin’s meticulous translations of thousands of Sumerian cuneiform tablets concerning the history of the earliest human civilization). The tablets contain The Epic of Enuma Elish (The Story of Creation) and The Epic of Gilgamesh, as explained through the works of Sitchen’s deciphers, a civilization some 450,000 years ago from a far distant world called Nibiru.

ANUNNAKI
The book contains extremely handsome and elaborate photographs, professionally exquisite graphic charts, illustrations that are well worth the cost: outlining the arrival and rise of an alleged civilization called the Anunnaki; Gilgamesh, the king of Urek; Ekidu, a cloned humanoid of the Anunnaki; Lord Enki, the chief genetic engineer; and Gilgamesh’s mother as an Anunnaki Divine Princess; Gilgamesh’s father was human.
The 6th tablet tells about Princess Ishtar who lusts after Gilgamesh but is rejected by him. Furious, Ishtar travels from an orbiting mothership to Urek, stealing the “Bull of Heaven” from Leader Anu, and uses the laser-device to blast the streets of Uruk killing hundreds of people. Gilgamesh and Enkidu destroy “The Bull” as Ishtar retreats.

CARL SAGAN
Klarfeld, as also so many other people, believes that a double entendre’ existed in the beliefs and statements of scientist Carl Sagan; Sagan always intended his words provoke additional thoughts on controversial topics, says Klarfeld. In Sagan’s 1985 book Contact, his photograph held behind him a “sentient belief” in Sumerian stories of the Anunnaki. Sagan once named a spaceship as Gilgamesh. It was Sagan that said: ‘Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” Klarfeld adds: “I suspect that Dr. Sagan was a believer who wanted to signal his beliefs, without overtly confronting the scientific community.”
THE ENUMA ELISH EPIC
Klarfeld summarizes that The Enuma Elish Epic predated the Hebrew Book of Genesis, and is the bases for the Genesis creation account. It is the originalcreation story that was transmitted orally from the Anunnaki. The Epic came to rest eventually in the form of seven cuneiform tablets.
(Why the Anunnaki didn’t use their advanced knowledge and technology to transmit history, as such, in a superior and very solidified means other than ‘oral’ and primitive ‘tablets’ is a curiously tantalizing question.)
THE SEVEN DAYS OF CREATION
Genesis spoke of seven days of creation. There were “seven” tablets relaying the Sumerian tale, said Sitchin. In Genesis, God saw on the 7th day that creation is good, and then He rested; in the Sumerian accounts, the ‘god’ created in the length of ‘six tablets,’ but on the last and 7th tablet, ‘god’ heralded and examined his creation. In the Sumerian seven tablets, creation was portrayed. In Genesis, God created and praised His creation in ‘seven’ days.

NIBIRU AND PLANETS AS ‘GODS’
The Enuma Elish tale, according to the late Zacharia Sitchin, named the planets of the solar system in the form of ‘gods’: Sun, Moon, nine planets, and Nibiru as the 10th planet. Starting from the Sun, they are Apsu (which is the Sun), Mummu, Lahamu, Tiamat (the Earth), Kishar, Arislar, Anu, Ea (Neptune). Apparently, Pluto is disowned and disenfranchised by Anunnaki and present-day scientists. Translating the personified conversations in the tale, the solar system was very mobile, causing all kinds of havoc and destruction until the sun stabilized their movements.

Earth’s moon is called Kingu, and the moon of Nibiru is called “Northwind.” When Nibiru came close to Earth in its 3,600-year orbit around the sun, ‘Northwind’ careened into the Earth about 225-million-years ago, fragmenting Pangea into continents, causing new orbits for Tiamat (Earth) and Nibiru. The asteroid belt was referred to as the HammeredBracelet.
LIFE ON A COLD PLANET
If Sitchin was correct, the inhabitants of Nibiru evolved on a planet that had no ‘goldilocks’ zone from a central sun precisely at the adequate distance for life as we know it. That meant that Nibiruites must have had a very peculiar evolution.
Has there ever been precedence in the UFO lore of beings evolving on a “cold planet”? Yes, there have been a few, one in particular: the stories of the late Richard Sharpe Shaver and the late Raymond Arthur Palmer.

THE TRADITIONS OF SHAVER AND PALMER
Through a period of about 1943 to 1977 the publisher of Amazing Stories Magazine, Ray A. Palmer (affectionately referred to as RAP), promulgated accounts of Richard Shaver’s journey into a Hidden World. Shaver, somewhat of a bohemian character who grew up with science-fiction and a dabbling of science, had also, for the most part, been an adventurer from occupation to occupation, talent to talent, territory to territory. Shaver also had an enlarged imagination as he discovered one day while working as a welder in a Detroit auto factory: voices were coming from his welding equipment; the voices were describing obscene depictions, and generally detailing outlandish events of anotherreality.
Right away, many would be quick to say that Shaver was probably schizophrenic or somehow mentally ill, but Palmer was swift to point out to Shaver’s detractors that much more was happening to Shaver. Palmer based that opinion on scientific verification of Shaver’s claims. There also existed modern theories on exactly what the brain perceives amidst the latest traditions of quantumphysics.
(One is reminded of the movie scene in A Beautiful Mind where schizophrenic John Nash, played by Richard Crowe, was observing the reflections of glass and crystal and seeing great mathematical possibilities: to quote the Halexandria Foundation: “On the one hand, there is the supposition that all of reality is an illusion. As discussed in Mass, the universe is nothing more than a figment of our prolific imaginations, a phantasm. That may be, but on a more, still-in-the-midst-of-this-life’s-drama level, we can ask about the degree to which we may be imagining — and/or creating — our own reality.” [Creating Your Perfect Reality])

DELICATE CONNECTIONS
David Darling, an astronomer, and graduate of Sheffield and Manchester Universities in England, spoke of ancient and current practitioners to ‘brain tapping,’ as one example, that by-passes the brain as a modulator to confronting cosmic consciousness. Darling also spoke of Clive Wearing’s Korsakoff Disease (Korsakoff had to reconstruct reality and memory every few seconds): “Cases such as these speak of more than just the fragile and constructed nature of self. They raise serious questions about the nature of time,” said Darling, “and the delicate connection between psychological time and physical reality. Could it be that time, likewise, is nothing more than a product of the way we think.” (Soul Search, Villard Books, Random House, New York, 1995, p. 117.)
SANCTIMONIOUS RIGHTEOUSNESS
Darling and other scientists pointed to altered states of consciousness where perception exceeded normal restraints. The sanctimonious judgments of such people, others would say, were probably premature if not also suspect and neurotic.
BACK INTO SPACE
Palmer received a rather sketchy manuscript at his office at Amazing StoriesMagazine telling of a vast underground civilization of demented creatures left on earth thousands of years ago by an Elder Race; this race possesses super-technology from their forefathers, who escaped earthly contamination by heading back into space.

AMAZING STORIES
The beings that were left behind on earth are a composite of ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,’ to use a movie metaphor: abandero or dero, and the not-so-bad, sometimes good, tero. Dero kept themselves “Dosed-up,” so-to-speak, through their machines which allowed them to continue long but torturous lives of radiation poisoning from the sun.
The Tero were a little more fortunate, knew the danger of the destructive “de” from the Sun, as well as the mechanics of surviving in such a surrealistic world. Some Tero actually waged war against the Dero who had the advantage of combat with their Ben-ray, Stim-ray, Telesolidography, and Telepathic-Augmentor.
And then, there are the “surface dwellers”: we humans, who have to deal with apparitions, ghosts, poltergeists, surface-type diseases and other mysterious calamities.
IT’S HELL!
Out of such a rich but chaotic history grew the legends of other legends; tales of other tales; Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu, The Oahspe Bible, Hades (Hell), and hundreds of other sagas.
The Hidden Underworld
Palmer reconstructed Shaver’s story-line for Amazing Stories and presented the manuscripts in a serious vain and found himself avalanched by responses from thousands of readers with a chorus of “Real! This is really happening!” Most were certifiably sane. Carl Sagan said and (quoted by Elz Cuya) “….renamed the scientific method, ‘the baloney detection kit.’ He admitted that science at times had been wrong.”
COLD PLANETS
If Shaver was insane, he also appeared correct, exampled by one such claim that the Elder Race lived on “dark, cold worlds,” away from deadly effects of space and sun radiation (exd) which carries “de, der, dir or d” ash, as compared to good matter – integrative energy – te, ter or t.
Like Zacharia Sitchin (1976), Emanuel Velikovsky (1950), Harold Jeffreys (1924), Shaver’s stories also told of cosmic catastrophe: Planets were dislodged, orbits realigned, and crash events occurred. The Elder Race feared none of this on their ‘dark planet’ of the Nortonean Race.

THE MEANING OF EVIL
Princess Vanic and other “Elder Gods,” as recorded in Shaver’s IRememberLemuria (1948), lived on the ‘sunless Nor’: they were “Nortons” who could thrive in ‘dark space’; they were ‘Titans,’ ‘Atlans,’ and ‘Nor-tons.’ They did avoid the “black death” from the “masses of (the) poisonous particles” from any sun or star (also called ‘dis’ or ‘de’). Such poison eventually causes ‘radioactivedisease’ known as ‘‘age.’’
Nortons were protected by a “carbon shell” canopy. Unfortunately, our sun, Sol, captured Nor and over many eons, the “shell” burned away about 30,000 years ago, allowing the destructive “de, der, dir or d” to enter the surface and cause havoc, disease, and aging. A residual “exd,” or ash, pushed back causing ‘gravity’ (A lot of Shaver’s ‘formulas’, said Palmer, have been found to be eventually true).
Not only was the capture of the “cold planet” a major epiphany-event but there were cataclysmic events and collisions of celestial bodies through the solar system.
This resulted in various legends.
LEGENDS
As mentioned, some legends appeared to be copies or remnant stories of other legends: issue tales of Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu, and Shaver’s strange “Mantong” language and alphabet where each letter denoted meaning: one word could seemingly have been a complete sentence or more.
When the “gods” left earth, they also abandoned superior machinery and diseased monsters that took “surface dwellers” into their Realm as “shanghaied slaves.”
Shaver died in November 1975 (same month I was confronted with the Kafkaesque world of the multi-billion-dollar Divorce Industry, Scam, and Racket). Ray Palmer died in August 1977, just two years after his dear friend Richard Shaver.
THE VISITOR
Donald Wesley Patten referred to such a mysterious celestial body moving tremulously through our solar system as “the Visitor” (The Biblical Flood and the IceEpoch, Pacific Meridan Publishing Company, 1966, p. 139). As a professional Geographer, M.A., Patten came to believe that a number of cosmic and planetary events disturbed the evolution of earth and its inhabitants. Rather than a “carbon shell,” Patten believed Earth had a “water canopy” (evidenced by a residual Van Allen Belt around the planet). The “canopy” was destroyed by a combination of events in the solar system. This “canopy” protected the earth from radiation and space debris (referred to in the Book of Genesis in the Scriptures as “the waters above”), allowing a rather deterioration-free world. The intimate details were in Patten’s book and related works of Immanuel Velikovsky and Jim Wentworth’s Giantsin the Earth; but all theories and legends held questionable “gaps” and begged multiple queries as yet unanswered or challenged.
STORED INFORMATION DEVICES
Klarfeld answers numerous questions; I cannot say he will answer questions to everyone’s satisfaction. He examines Sumerian and ancient archeology through four categories: S.I.T – or – Stored Information Text (cuneiform tablets), S.I.Ts – or – Stored Information Tablets (cuneiform tablets), S.I.D – or – Stored Information Device (cylinder seals), S.I.Sc – or – Stored Information Sculpture (Ishtar statue, etc.), and S.I.S.t – or – Stored Information Structure (pyramids).
HANDS ON
The pyramids certainly seemed mysterious enough to be classified as possibly an actual alien “structure”: 2.3 million bricks in the Giza pyramid with a satellite view of being only two inches off at the apex. This is a tolerance of 1/1,000,000 of an inch.
But the question seemed affordable to ask: why did the Sumerians, who consorted with the Anunnaki beings and leaders, not “demand,” or, at least, query their Creators about obtaining or inventing their super-technology? They could have insisted or campaigned as so that the Anunnaki put their laser, radio, and other advanced machinery at their disposal. Conversely, the Anunnaki could have circumnavigated cuneiform tablets and cylinder-seals and ‘had given’ the Eridue superior machines.
WIPEOUT
Why is there only history of the Anunnaki in the Mesopotamian civilization? Or, did the “Nephilim” do a very good job of keeping their existence of technology completely out of the hands of the Enkidu? Why allow ‘any’ technological transfer?

CONNECTING THE DOTS OR NOT
Klarfeld offers the mysteries of Stonehenge as another bit of evidence of ancient super-civilizations. Klarfeld says the stones were erected on a prior 285-foot-diameter circle of 56 chalk holes. The Audrey Circle, say its defenders, is an early eclipse-computer with precise knowledge of celestial mechanics. Stonehenge’s earliest portion dates approximately 2950-2900 BCE, Middle Neolithic, and having enormous knowledge about the earth’s relation to celestial bodies, enabled as S.I.D and S.I.S.t devices.
ENGINEERING MARVELS
The Uruk, Nipper, Kishilarsa, Ur, Eridu, and Anunnaki peoples left many clues: stones, says Klarfield, that can only have been chiseled and moved by an advanced technology. One stone weighs over 1,200 tons; the St. Louis Gateway Arch weighs 900 tons. Some megalith stones are found raised 36 feet above the ground and end to end.
STONES
The pyramid of Giza (and several other pyramids) still defied complete explanation by its critics of an S.I.S.t. Pyramid fascinations included: Its engineers knew of the proportions of “pi” and the Golden Mean, Pythagorean Triangles, thousands of years before Pythagoras lived. Passageways, said defenders, could not be produced with copper or bronze tools; the builders also knew the precise spherical shape and size of the Earth, Venus, Mars, and Mercury and star positions.

Sitchin’s legends told of the messenger Galzu, instructed by the Creator of All, telling the Anunnaki to save humanity and advance human civilization. In “The Lost Book of Enki,” Enki and Enlil debated using “WeaponsofTerror”: atomic-tipped missiles stored on earth and used in war: issue Sodom and Gomorrah, the “evil wind” (radiation fallout) which destroyed the Sumerian alien-hybrids. The Halexandria Foundation stated: “Unfortunately, Lot’s wife looked behind her, and was turned into a pillar of salt for her trouble. [6/22/06 – One reader, Paul Cilwa, had noted that ‘In Hebrew, the word used for ‘salt’ also means ‘vapor.’ Lot’s wife wasn’t turned to salt. She was vaporized. When Abraham got wind of the event, ‘he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.’ (Genesis 19:28).]”

The Foundation continued: “The aftermath was so terrifying that Lot and his daughters fled to a cave, where the natural assumption was that the human race was doomed (i.e. no men to beget children). The daughters then took the next step of lying with their father, conceived, and ultimately bore sons.
“Notice how all of the ingredients in the Biblical story account for the destruction of the cities by a nuclear blast.”
RADIOACTIVITY
Possible clues also further substantiated the atomic war. Mark Hempsell of Bristol University, based on the cuneiform symbols in Planisphere tablets of a Sumerian astronomer, postulated a large asteroid passed over the area scorching 386,000 square miles and sending out debris and shock waves. The text spoke of: “a white stone bowl being vigorously swept along.”
The cities, also known as Bab edh Dhra and Numeira, showed signs of fire from above as well as a “burn layer” at Numeira. “To this day, unnatural levels of radioactivity are found in the water of springs around the southernmost edges of the Dead Sea. One study confirmed that this radioactivity was sufficiently high to ‘induce sterility and allied afflictions in any animals and humans that absorbed it over a number of years. Further evidence of an explosion is being revealed by the falling level of the Dead Sea, which has in recent years dropped from 1,280 feet to 1,340 feet below sea level.’”

“The isolation of the fossil water body give it characteristic chemical and radioactive properties, including low values of radioactive tritium and radium and the presence of bivalent iron, which indicates a lack of oxygen. One study found that radioactive isotopes had been introduced into the surface layers and mixed throughout the water column before its stratification.”
“A strong correlation between radium activity and salinity was also evident in groundwater along the rift valley between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea, as well as in groundwater from the Judea Group rocks in the Negev. The general rule is that in freshwater conditions, most of the radium remains in the aquifer rocks, while in saline conditions the radium escapes from the rocks and has high concentrations in groundwater. Other studies have established that groundwater with no oxygen also is typically enriched in radium.”
Based on evidence found at Harappa, could this not be the case at Sodom and Gomorrah as well?
“The levels of radiation registered so high on investigators’ gauges that the Indian government cordoned off the region. Scientists then apparently unearthed an ancient city where they found evidence of an atomic blast dating back thousands of years: from 8,000 to 12,000 years.”
Some artifacts are disputed, some disproven, some appeared to be hoaxes—-such as the Crystal Skulls. All in all, the accuracy of the Sumerian account boiled down to whether an inhabited planet came around our Sun from deep space.
Klarfeld says that legends title this mysterious Planet X as Marduk, The Winged Globe, Treta, Yuga, The Celestial Disk, and Nemesis.
Could molecular life as we know it have existed on “dark planets” so far from radiant heat or warmth?
Life on planets in our solar system exists because of ideal or quasi-ideal “goldilocks” positions from a heat source in the universe that “sets the stage.” Mars probes and discoveries on Europa, the fourth-largest moon of Jupiter (which has a possible 50-mile-ocean-breeding-ground) gave wonder about the tenacity of life. Internal heat from volcanism and other factors inspired us to new and fresh viewpoints.
COLD AS HADES
Rare and bizarrely exotic life existed and evolved under the strenuously cantankerous and perhaps perilous conditions. Science seemed to indicate that life “yearns” to exist, even in hostilely macabre environments. In Oymyakon in the northern hemisphere, birds in mid-flight froze because the temperatures are so cold. The Hot Spring of Sakha (“non-freezing water”) supported life in temperatures of -60-degree centigrade to -71.2-degree centigrade. Vostok, about 1,300 km from the South Pole has a low temperature of -128.6-degrees-farhenheit (and winds up to 60 mph), yet life was found. During Polar Night, in low oxygen at an 11,312-foot altitude, life abounded.

.Scientists pointed to life in Chile’s cruelly dry Atacama Desert, the 10,000-foot-thick ice plateaus in Greenland, the 750-degree-fahrenheit hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor, and mitochondria in a microscopic “harsh world.”

Antarctica flourished with bacteria living because of ‘cold shock proteins,’ said Dr. William P. McGiven, and proteins carrying metabolic enzymes that allow ‘ice re-crystallization inhibition (RI) activity.’
McGiven found that proteolytic cleavage in a creature called hydrogenophilus or chemolithoautotrophy can change the physical structure of the ice around them through “stress chaperones or stress proteins.”
PSYCHROPHILES
Psychrophilic organisms were found at -112-degrees-F; they were “psychrotolerant”: able to survive in either cold or warm temperatures. Archaea creatures were thermophiles that, contrarily, were ‘‘heat-loving,” demonstrating the wide-range of spectacular life.
Toxic cyanobacteria secreted “anti-freeze chemicals,” exopolymers, mucus that allowed insulation; yeast and nematode worms utilized trehalose sugar; and in the Antarctic Taylor Dry Valley, organisms flourished in calcium chloride in the Ross Ice Shelf.
Carol Cleland and Microbiologist Sheely Copley of NASA’S Astrobiology Institute spoke of a “shadow biosphere” wherein all kinds of “weird life” intersect and thrive on earth, some in symbiotic relationships, but all suspended in diversified and “staggeringly” cooperative and competitively strange and harsh life.

We must consider: what about life on distant worlds?
THE ROSWELL GREYS
One can only have speculated that in billions of years in crossing space to, briefly (several hundred years out of thousands), pass a sun in its orbit, as to what type of life could evolve on a “dark planet.” Obviously, life would be unique, to say the least, for it would not depend on the traditional “goldilocks” mechanisms we’re usually assumed.

Gravity would be quite different, due to the individual planetary terrain. There would not be the Sun’s “constant” harmful radiation; perhaps such a planet might itself be an “organism” enveloped in some ‘cloud’ or ‘shell’ causing surface evolutionary mechanisms. Such ‘shields’ may become threatened by eventual catastrophe causing the inhabitants to search out artificial survival morphing.
One could envision large, almost “pupil-less” eyes to allow as much light in as possible; thin, elongated features due to odd gravity strains, and inner organs much reported like the artist conceptions in the alleged, famed “humanoid grey creatures” of 1947, Roswell, New Mexico, UFO crash.

GOLD FOR HEALTH
According to Sitchenites, the Anunnaki created Enkidu-type hybrids to mine gold from the bowels of the earth because Anunnaki had a medical and ecological need for it. Sitchenites speculated: gold dust or salts have anti-inflammatory uses or the ability to reduce arthritic pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and tuberculosis. Gold, also, has a use in radioisotopes and electrical conductivity.
Obviously, as a basis for our legends, the Anunnaki may have had a “broken” ozone layer or damage to their “cloud-shield.” Gold, as various solid and dust forms, may have been used as an aid or protectant (we see our ‘modern chem-trails’ being sprayed by humans today).
BREAD OF LIFE
Researchers speculated about gold’s anti-cancer properties when induced as nanoparticles to fight “cellular deformations.” It may fix strings of DNA and regulate the hormonal functions of the human endocrine system.
Gold had electrical aspects as a “superconductor.” Metallurgy and chemistry were still progressing into the monoatomic reality of elements. Theorists talked of arranging the atoms into singular atoms causing very little deletion of energy input, as a superconductor, and enhancing the body brain-power and memory, even acting as a time-machine in some ‘monatomic optimum.’

AMIDST A CONFLUENCE
Despite these threads of contention, facing a magnanimous universe, final answers were hidden in the midst of infinite questions; confluence guarded the darkest secrets of the great beyond. Only in the never-ending search, will we finally know if Sitchin, Patten, Velikovsky, Shaver, Palmer, John Keel, and others in this matrix of inquiry, will be found correct: sicitor ad astra(“Thus one goes to the stars”, Aeneid, Virgil).

Extremophilic microbes are a wild bunch. They can be found thriving in some of the most hostile environments imaginable – swimming in near-boiling water, eating rocks, lounging in sub-zero temperatures, and hanging out where radiation levels rival nuclear reactors.
The benthic zone includes the entire sea floor. About 200,000 species of plants and animals live here. They live on the continental shelf and continental slope. Hydrothermal vents discovered in 1977 are also teeming with life. These plants and animals do not need sunlight to exist.
Tardigrades are a class of microscopic animals with eight limbs and a strange, alien-like behavior. William Miller, a leading tardigrade researcher at Baker University, says these creatures are remarkably abundant. Hundreds of species “are found across the seven continents; everywhere from the highest mountain to the lowest sea,” he says. “Many species of tardigrades live in water, but on land, you find them almost everywhere there’s moss or lichen.” In 2007, scientists discovered that these microscopic critters can survive an extended stay in the cold, irradiated vacuum of outer space. A European team of researchers sent a group of living tardigrades to orbit the earth on the outside of a FOTON-M3 rocket for ten days. When the water bears returned to Earth, the scientists discovered that 68 percent lived through the ordeal.
Palmer was hit by a truck at age seven and suffered a broken back. At nine, a failed spinal graft left him a hunchback who never grew past four feet. He immersed himself in science fiction, moving quickly from fandom, to fan zine publication, to editor at Ziff-Davis. He published a wide array of magazines over the decades.

Ray Palmer’s series of Amazing Stories on the Hidden World
Jellyfish species Diplulmaris Antarctica floats with the current just offshore of McMurdo Station, Ross Island, Antarctica. This species is generally found in Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula near the surface in continental shelf waters. It’s colorless umbrella can be up to 18 centimeters in diameter and its diet consists mainly of copepods, euphausiid larvae, medusae, ctenophores, fish larvae and molluscan pteropods.
The Shaver Mystery is part of the history of Amazing StoriesMagazine, but it is certainly not considered one of the magazine’s shining moments. Barry Malzberg touched on it briefly in his blog post. In a nutshell, the Shaver Mystery was the “UFO phenomenon” before the actual UFO phenomenon.
George P. Hanson portrayed the paranormal, Psi, parapsychology, ghosts, UFOs, and all the monsters that seem to be associated with this arena in complicated detail in The Trickster and the Paranormal. Hansen, formerly employed in parapsychology laboratories for eight years, three at the Rhine Research Center in Durham, North Carolina, discovered the Shadow Reality of what appears to be behind these global specters. He believed there are variousstages we must go through to discover their origin:

Prevalent themes ran through all cultures as shared beliefs, archetypes, and characteristics. Hanson called these repetitive, and often contradictory, characteristics and identities of “the trickster” as scornful. “…tricksters typically engage in deceit…tricksters often disrupt things. They don’t fit in well with the established order. They violate taboos, sometimes so severely that they are forced to live apart from others…deception, disruption, reduced sexual inhibitions, and magical Psi, supernatural practices.”
SERIES OF PRACTICES
The concept of the trickster ran as a gamut of lore and beliefs: Hermes of the Greeks, Loki of the Norse, Eshu-Elegba of Africa, Mercurius, and a whole pantheon of gods, goddesses, shamans, and legends. It included mysticism, magic, UFOs, conjurors, and a host of “unbounded phenomena,” as spoken by Hanson, which further included Big Foot sightings, cattle mutilations, UFO flaps, Men in Black, phantom helicopters, and even stranger characters.
The Trickster Can and Likes to be Seen Often in the Disguise of a Clown
“Unbounded phenomena are messy; gathering reliable information is difficult, and trickster manifestations are acute,” said Hanson. “These factors conspire to discourage scientific investigation, despite the intriguing response.”
“Another drawback to studying such phenomena is that they intrude into the personal lives of investigators. The full impact of this perhaps cannot be appreciated unless one has had direct experience.”
THE TRICKSTER FIGURE
Hanson saw the conflicts of belief that lead to the manifestations of the ‘trickster’ in the structure of the paranormal-related organizations such as the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP). Hanson described CSICOP ingredients:
“It is structural rather than anti-structural; it values hierarchy over communities; it desires stability rather than liminality,” said Hanson. “Nevertheless, because it directly confronts the paranormal, it cannot escape a certain influence from it, and as I will show, the trickster manifests with both the supernatural and its opponents.”
Hanson said that such CSICOP-type debunking was a component of the trickster conflict. The supernatural was rich in all cultures. Slogans such as “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” will not effectively eliminate the supernatural. Hanson said that it was from such a rich soil of the ‘‘energetic, unconscious, archetypal process” that utilized “taboos” which gave birth to the “trickster.” Many other organizations shared and bonded with these same characteristics: clear anti-structural Psi, disorder and deception.
GOVERNMENT ANTICS
Hanson examined the antics of one Richard C. Doty of the U.S Air Force office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). Hanson studied Doty’s “long and convoluted” association with William L. Moore, MJ-12 papers, Paul Bonnewitz, Linda Howe, and UFO cases such as the Roswell, New Mexico 1947 crashed UFO, the Simone Mendez October, 1981 Top Secret messages, and other stories that portrayed the trickster’s sardonic games.
“Doty really couldn’t have been overlooked,” said Hanson, “after all, Linda Howe had published accounts that raised serious questions, not just about the Air Force, but particularly the AFOSI…and Vallee too raised questions about AFOSI.”
OTHER PLAYERS
Cecil B. Scott Jones had “multitudinous connections” to “unbounded” phenomena. Jones had exceptionally connected associations in government circles. He also had intimate contacts to New Age, Psi, and UFO topics. He served as president of the American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR).
“Jones was not a marginal individual,” said Hanson. “He had access to the highest levels in government. He associated with some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world. In fact, some of them financed his activities (1992).”
Hanson went on and tied a long trail of personalities: Bruce Maccabee, John Alexander, Karl Plock, Ed Dames, James Oberg, and several others. All were contributors to the fray.
“Most people think that UFOs, remote viewing, and cattle mutilations are entirely separate domains,” said Hanson, “and when these marginal topics are blended, establishment academics and journalists are repulsed. But the mixture is an ideal exemplar for his book. It displays boundary blurring, marginality, and deception, which are trickster characteristics.”
(Current and present-day “players” would have included controversial personalities such as David Icke, Alex Jones, and Edward Snowden: the list would seem endless as the spirit of such phenomena would be continuous. The troupes are far beyond Hanson’s or my directories.)

The show was syndicated by the Genesis Communication Network on over 60 AM and FM radio stations across the United States, and had gained a large internet based audience. Jones’ mission was to re-ignite the spirit of 1776 and stand as an example of the fact that one man can build a vocal media platform without the aid of big corporate news networks that only serve to compromise and dilute the core message of freedom and liberty.)

This book established the central tenet of Mr. Icke’s philosophy: that the world is run by a race of reptilian aliens that can change their shape and appear to be human, and that the world’s political, economic and social systems are a colossal conspiracy by these evil aliens to enslave mankind. Over his various series of books and lectures, Mr. Icke has expounded on this theory, weaving a complicated science-fiction history of the world wherein these aliens have been breeding humans since ancient times.)
(Edward Snowden was the man responsible for leaking information about secret government cellphone surveillance. He was a 29-year-old former CIA employee and NSA contractor. He was thought to be one of the most significant intelligence leaks in American history.)
PART OF THE PHENOMENA
Hanson denoted hoaxing as part of the deceptive fabric. He talked about the UFO phenomena as more than “nuts and bolts” aircraft and “flesh and blood” humanoid occupants.

“UFO phenomena are fundamentally liminal, interstitial, betwixt and between, and anti-structural. UFOs inhabit the realm between heaven and earth (a binary opposition),” said Hanson, “much like spirits and angels, and they share common properties with them. In this domain we also find the blurring of imagination and reality, another binary opposition.” The field is both a goldmine and a cesspool, according to Hanson, but all outlined the “field’s complexity.”
THE LINDA NAPOLITANO/ CORTILE HOAX
High-profiled witnesses allegedly observed the purported UFO abduction of Linda Napolitano (Cortile) on November 30, 1989. The case was a complicated abduction story of Napolitano from her apartment in lower Manhattan. Under Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar, along with two hired bodyguards, was an alleged witness. Another witness, by the pseudonym Janet Kimball, claimed to have witnessed the abduction. The principal UFO investigator was UFO researcher Budd Hopkins, who administered hypnosis.

Hanson and other investigators became suspicious of the tale because of the many inconsistencies. Hopkins’s methods, said Hanson, were suspected as inappropriate. Speaking of the suspected hoax, Hanson said:
“The Napolitano case was not a technically difficult or expensive operation, nor would it have required a lot of time or coordination.”
Perez de Cuellar denied knowing Napolitano. Janet Kimball refused to cooperate. Hanson detected a strong “will to believe” among the people involved. (pp. 258-259) “…in many minds,” said Hanson, “the distinction between the hoaxers and the hoaxed is blurred, this being a subtle effect of the trickster.”
CONFUSING WORLD
The trickster, as Hanson had detailed, existed in an exotic world of ritual clowns, the collapse of cultures, magic tricks, scattered and incoherent happenings. “This is indeed how the trickster appears in our current rationalistic paradigms,” said Hanson.

The remainder of Hanson’s book was a maze of organizations, scientific findings, personalities, and tales that exemplified the complex “world of the trickster”: topics were explored such as totem-ism, quantum physics, paranoia, binaryoppositions, and rationalization.
Not since the work of psychoanalyst C.G Jung and his book, Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, had a professional researcher tried to form a meaningfully broad and worldwide view of bizarre, synchronistic and mystic events. Hanson’s book was one of several increasing attempts over the years.
C.G. JUNG’S VISIONS

Carl Jung was mainly known for his theories on the nature of the “unconsciousmind.” However, he did have an interest in the paranormal. Jung also applied his analytical talents in his book Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies (Harcourt Publishers, 1959). Jung applied his skills in studying the UFO phenomenon. Rather than assuming that the modern prevalence of UFO sightings are due to extraterrestrial craft, Jung reserved judgment on their origin and connected UFOs with archetypal imagery, concluding that they have become a “livingmyth.” Jung said this myth was possibly underlined by global tensions:
“In the threatening situation of the world today, when people are beginning to see that everything is at stake, the projection-creating fantasy soars beyond the realm of earthly organizations and powers into the heavens, into interstellar space, where the rulers of human fate, the gods, once had their abode in the planets….Under these circumstances it would not be at all surprising if those sections of the community who ask themselves nothing were visited by`visions,’ by a widespread myth seriously believed in by some and rejected as absurd by others.”

Jung felt that if the extraterrestrial origin of the phenomena should be confirmed, that our science and technology would be deposited to the scrap heap. He said it would be a catastrophe similar to the Pax Britannica in primitive countries. He also said, “If we wish to avoid such a catastrophe, the authorities in possession of important information should not hesitate to enlighten the public as soon and as completely as possible and should, above all, stop these ridiculous antics of mysteries and vague allusions.”
Gary Lachman in his recent book, Jung the Mystic: The Esoteric Dimensions of Carl Jung’s Lifeand Teachings (Tarcher/Penguin, June 2010) said that Jung argued that UFOs were mandalas from outer space. Jung had come upon the image of the mandala, the Sanskrit ‘magic circle,’ as a symbol of psychic wholeness, and he suggested that ‘flying saucers’ were mass archetypal projections, formed by the psychic tension produced by the Cold War that was heating up.
PSYCHO COSMOLOGY
Dr. Stephan A. Hoeller, Ph.D. is an eminent scholar on the subject of C. G. Jung’s RedBook, and Hoeller said that Jungian psychology began with what Dr. Heoller called a “psycho cosmology” that emerged directly from Jung’s work as an artist, visionary, philosopher and prophet. Dr. Hoeller defined Jung as a prophet who told the truth of the Gods – that multi–dimensional transcendentpower that animated our spiritual lives. (T.E Pelton: Mythology, MysticismandMagic: “C.G. Robert Michael Place likewise said in Synchronicity & Magic (2000: this article first appeared in Llewellyn’s Magical Almanac) that magic was synonymous with what Jung called “synchronicity.” Carl Jung, himself, had stated as much. In his introduction to the Wilhelm/Baynes edition of the IChing, Jung said that when we successfully consulted this Chinese oracle (which we may consider an act of magic) we are experiencing the principle, which he termed “synchronicity.”
Synchronicity, explained Place, was defined by Jung as a meaningful coincidence of an external event with a psychic event, such as a dream, fantasy, or thought. These events coincided in time in a way that gave them meaning for the observer. They seemed like communications between a divine force and us, and they confirmed that there is a connection or interaction between our psyche and physical reality.
Steve Erdmann had sometimes referred to the unexplained mechanism in the trickster’s performance as ‘the X factor.’ He tried to point to that undefined equation in these happenings.
The ‘X Factor’ and the Trickster
Jerome Clark summarized in Unexplained: Strange sightings, Incredible Occurrences, andPuzzling Physical Phenomena (Visible Ink Press, 3rd edition.): “…we may well ask ourselves ‘are anomalous experiences significant, or are they just some form of absurd, empty display?’ I don’t know. Neither do you. Maybe one day we’ll find out…the three hardest words for a human being to utter are ‘I don’t know.’ We demand an accounting for every claim or experience, and when no accounting is available, someone will invent one for us.”
INADEQUATE CONCEPTS

“So – what is a Trickster?” asked James Mosley in the September 20, 2012 issue of Saucer Smear: “To say there is no easy answer is an understatement…Our own definition of a trickster might be: ‘Someone or something that disrupts the normal order of things, deliberate or otherwise’…we know of instances where everything in a séance is either hoaxed or is explainable nonsense, until something absolutely real and unexplained actually happens. That is the trickster sticking his – its – nose into the séance!” Moseley points to Christopher O’Brien’s Stalking the Trickster: Shape shifters, Skin walkers, Dark Adepts, and 2012 as a source of information (Adventures Unlimited Press, 2009).
“The trickster has innumerable internal contradictions, and those are what have made him so different for scholars,” Hanson concluded. “He seems irrational, and he is. The usual scientific concepts are inadequate to fully explain him. He has many meanings and cannot be reduced to a single interpretation. He also resists being placed in any single category.”
Many questionsremained, what if the world of mysticism – and UFOs – shared a strong physical reality along with an etherealside, or, physical realities that shared a strong mysticalside? There were adjoining questions: what if those “realities” had several different sources; and what if they had coexisted for ages?
“…what I am positing is that we co-create with Gaia Consciousness, cryptids, aliens, UFO’s, crop circles, electromagnetic anomalies, telepathic abilities (Gaia Consciousness as a carrier frequency), astral apparitions and on into telekinetic events,” said Erik Stitt (April 14, 2010). “Why? Because the Earth and the Human Species are trying to communicate with one another in the form of Psychoterrestrial Phenomena! This is language. This is speaking. This is communication! It may even be Universal.”
Ann Druffel has been dynamic in investigating UFOs since 1957 when she joined the National Investigations Committee on Unidentified Flying Objects. The genial author of Tujunga CanyonContacts (co-authored by D. Scott Rogo) and How To Defend Yourself Against Alien Abduction is a serious individual. She has earned a good reputation and everyone respects her opinions, even when she stentorianly states:
“The entities who pose as ‘extraterrestrials’ are not what they say they are. Rather, they are apparently unwholesome entities who have deceived and interacted with humans since the dawn of history. Be they mythic, ‘real,’ ‘spiritual,’ inter-dimensional or from a ‘hidden world’ which somehow exists in or alongside our own earth plane, I cannot say, since proof still eludes us. I do know for certain, however, that interfering, shape shifting, ‘otherworldly’ entities have been described by every major culture (and many smaller cultures) on the face of the earth down through the millennia, and that these older cultures developed means to fend them off or, at the very least, recognize them for what they were.”
“The same secret societies and old European bloodline families are in control of the world today,” said The Secret History of America: The Greatest Conspiracy on Earth. “To better understand what they do, we need to look at their philosophies and ideas. BENGHAZI AND THE MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS…..
So here’s the REAL story: Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to secretly retrieve US made Stinger Missiles that the State Dept. had supplied to Ansar al Sharia in Libya WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission.
Sec State Hillary Clinton had brokered the Libya deal through Ambassador Stevens and a Private Arms Dealer named Marc Turi, but some of the shoulder fired Stinger Missiles ended up in Afghanistan where they were used against our own military. On July 25th, 2012, a US Chinook helicopter was downed by one of them. Not destroyed only because the idiot Taliban didn’t arm the missile. The helicopter didn’t explode, but it had to land and an ordnance team recovered the missile’s serial number which led back to a cache of Stinger Missiles kept in Qatar by the CIA.
Obama and Hillary were in full panic mode, so Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to retrieve the rest of the Stinger Missiles. This was a “do-or-die” mission, which explains the Stand Down Orders given to multiple rescue teams during the siege of the US Embassy.
It was the State Dept., NOT the CIA, that supplied the Stinger Missiles to our sworn enemies because Gen. Petraeus at CIA would not approve supplying the deadly missiles due to their potential use against commercial aircraft. So then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus when he refused to testify in support of Obama’s phony claim of a “spontaneous uprising caused by a YouTube video that insulted Muslims.”
Obama and Hillary committed TREASON!
THIS is what the investigation is all about, WHY she had a Private Server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and WHY Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was the result of the YouTube video, even though everyone KNEW it was not.
Furthermore, the Taliban knew that the administration had aided and abetted the enemy WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission, so they began pressuring (blackmailing) the Obama Administration to release five Taliban generals being held at Guantanamo.

David Marler analytically laid out the contours of special types of UFOs that somewhat appeared as triangular aircraft or similar phenomena going back as far as 1882.
“These are craft of unknown origin. We appear to be confronted with something other than human technology, therefore the implications are profound,” said Marler. “The objects may be spatial, temporal, or dimensional in origin.”

Where we stand today in reference to triangular UFOs and the UFO subject as a whole is just a steppingstone in our examination of this phenomenon,” said Marler. “Questions remain as to the relationship, if any, of these triangular UFOs relative to the others of varying descriptions. Each person who reviews this material can maketheirown conclusions.”
CHARLES FORT AND DONALD KEYHOE
Charles Fort, the person who chronicled strange events at the turn of the century, and gave meaning to the term “Fortean,” recorded Charles Tilden Smith’s sighting of two triangular dark shapes on April 8, 1912 (Chrisbury, Wiltshire, England). “It is not a stretch of the imagination to assume,” said Marler, “that two large triangular-shaped shadows were most likely caused by two large triangular-shaped objects.”
The late UFOlogist Donald Keyhoe related accounts of triangular-shaped objects that were also seen in England and Scotland in 1895, said Keyhoe (p. 63).
Mr. Helger Berg and a work-companion spotted a triangular UFO at Eklorna, Alaska in 1936. “…the sound reminded me of when the pilot shuts down a turbine. It had a kind whining sound until it finally peters out,” said Berg.
Similar triangular UFOs were seen in 1950, 1953, and 1954 in Korea, Germany, California, New York, and Canada, not to mention in many other countries around the globe.
Eleven crew members of a British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) Strato Cruiser and most of its fifty-one passengers saw a similar UFO for eighteen minutes on June 29, 1954. The object at first appeared to be a dark blob accompanied by an “array of objects” lined up three in front and three in back. “They likened it to a battleship with escort ships,” said Marler.
SHAPE-SHIFTING UFO
Captain James Howard noted that the smaller objects appeared to enter and exit the larger object. The larger object appeared to change from a pear-shaped UFO to “an enormous delta-wing plane” and then to a “giant telephone receiver lying on its back in the sky.”
A jet interceptor pilot noted that upon his approach to the UFOs, the smaller objects suddenly disappeared. Crew members said that the smaller objects went into the larger object. The larger object said to be as large as an oceanliner, shrunk in size and disappeared.

Another typical sighting was on September 3, 1965, by law enforcement officials, deputies Bethel McCoy and Bob Goode, as they drove south of Houston, Texas. “It hovered in the air. It was eerie,” the witnesses said, “It was shaped like a triangle 200 feet long and 40 to 50 feet high. It had a purple light on its left side and a blue one on its right side.”
The UFO followed them in a high-speed pursuit, and then abruptlystopped and disappeared.
Mrs. Robert Gorisek of La Salle, Illinois witnessed a triangular object on March 25, 1966, that hovered over her car for over an hour. The object seemed to follow her and several witnesses as they drove through several towns.
On the same day, Mrs. R.H. Chappell and Miss Janie Kidd observed the triangular UFOs in Victoria, British Columbia; both had ruby red lights that were flashing back and forth between the UFOs “as if they were signaling each other.”
THE JANUARY 5, 2000 TRIANGLE
Marler outlined one of the best typical triangular UFO cases, during the night of January 5, 2000, which invaded the skies over Highland, Lebanon, Shiloh and Millstadt, Illinois. The UFO was witnessed by multiple law enforcement officers as well as several civilian people. Sighting-descriptions varied from triangular to a box-shaped object as big as a “two-story house.”

Officer Craig Stevens gave a classic description of the object as it passed near Liederkranz Park on the north end of Millstadt, Illinois. The UFO appeared about 500 to 1,000 feet in altitude. It moved very slowly with a lowdecibel buzzingsound. “He could see the object had a white light on the left side, right side, and center of the back end,” said Marler, “In addition, there was a single red light on the bottom. The back end also appeared to be slightly recessed.”
Officer Stevens took Polaroid pictures which did not turn out, except to show blurry lights.
Officer Ed Barron and Officer David Martin observed the object to travel about ten miles in two to three seconds, with an estimated UFO speed of 12,000 miles per hour.
“The resulting effect should have been the creation of a sonic boom which would have rattled the entire area,” said Marler. “However, no such reports were made by the witnesses or residents of the surrounding areas.”
Marler speculated amongst several theories including an unknown and secret military craft. “The second is that this was not a military vehicle and was completely foreign to military officials,” said Marler. “If this scenario is true, the implications are chilling. A genuine UFO flew by a major military installation and caught the military completely by surprise to the point where no overt defensive response was initiated.”
THE TINLEY PARK UFOs
On the evenings of August 21 and October 31st, 2004, at Tinsley Park, Illinois, a triangular UFO was sighted by numerous witnesses (including three videos and three photographs).
“In at least two videos the object was recorded rotating in the base below and above itself. This is a very unusual maneuver clearly recorded and then mentioned in the narration,” said MUFON State Director, Sam Maranto.
One 48-year-old witness said that about 10 p.m. on August 21st, 2004, a red light came along the same path of the previous triangular UFO flight path. There was no noise and the object floated very slowly over the tops of houses.
“Their evaluations of footage and Graphic illustrations of the estimated size of the triangular object is nothing short of dynamic,” said Sam Maranto about a UFO Hunters television show, “they did an excellent job getting the point across in the show that, whatever the nature of the object, it was many times larger than anything in our flying arsenal today.”
TRIANGLE CHARACTERISTICS
In chapter seven, Marler traveled through twenty profile characteristics that seemed to have defined the triangular UFOs.

A triangular craft spotted near Fleet, England in 1978 moved in a “triangular pattern.” “It was very erratic going backward and forwards,” said the witness.

On November 3, 1961, about 4:30 p.m. in Eyres Monsell, England, a witness observed a triangular object with an orange center; the object flew an estimated 600 miles per hour and resembled an Auro Vulcan bomber in size.
OTHER VIEWPOINTS
Marler’s book was fore worded by retired US Army Colonel John Alexander. Alexander had an impressive career as a Green Beret war hero, as well as an adviser to the CIA, the U.S Special Operations Command and the National Intelligence Council on Foreign Relations. While genuinely upholding the reality of alien UFOs, Alexander has done his share of critical debunking of much of ufology, to the chagrin of many ufologists. He debunked, in this case, the belief that triangular UFOs were actually secret military vehicles:
“Regarding triangular UFOs, in particular, conspiracy theorists repeatedly have taken the position mentioned above – secret government research. It never mattered that such a conclusion defies both facts and logic specifically, while the government does develop advanced aircraft in secret,” said Alexander, “they do not conduct test flights of well-illuminated prototypes near the major metropolitan area. Yet, that is where many of the large triangles have been observed.” (p. 2.)
(There were herein several controversies related to the topic of the origins of triangular aircraft that are outside of the book, which Erdmann is attempting to cover.).
Micheal S. Heiser – Researcher
Dr. Michael Heiser’s posts included summaries and opinions of Mr. Marler’s work, as well as thoughts on a foreword for the book provided by Colonel John Alexander. Dr. Heiser supported Mr. Marler for his research and endorsed the book to those interested in UFOs. Heiser also expressed concerns about dodgy lapses of relevant data, particularly committed by Colonel John Alexander. Colonel Alexander continued to suggest that he could identify triangular craft that were regular secret operations as opposed to those which are not, “implying some are supposedly not (normal aircraft…SE), all the while at least pretending to be virtually oblivious to the history of man-made triangle craft and the interest held in them by two of his former employers, the Department of Defense and Robert Bigelow’s National Institute of Discovery Science.”
Dr. Heiser posted on his personal blog, UFO Religions, in what had so far been a two-part post titled, Thoughts. Michael Heiser, who holds a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible, recently made a couple particularly noteworthy comments on Marler’s book about triangular UFOs.
“…All the above makes it very odd that the words ‘dirigible’ and ‘airship’ do not even appear in Marler’s index. It’s as though research in that direction and behavioral overlap didn’t even register with him. Since those terms don’t appear in his index, it makes sense that the names of Busby and Danelek are also absent. They are the authors of the two major books on the airship sightings in the late 1890s.”

Dr. Heiser and others pointed to the Patent Office which housed numerous patents and diagrams of mechanizeddirigibleand triangular aircraft that he felt tangent to the discussion:
“But if we assume the craft to be neither imaginary nor extraterrestrial, what is left? Only one possibility remains, and that is that the vessel seen in the skies over much of the United States in the winter of 1896-97 was a powered balloon or, more accurately, a dirigible, possibly being put through its paces by some intrepid inventor intent on bringing lighter-than-air flight to humanity.”
“I’m not going to claim that dirigible airship technology is ‘the’ explanation for triangular craft, or even that there is a direct line of evolution from the early patents to today,” said Heiser. “For sure one could make that case, but that wouldn’t actually prove that airships are behind the triangular UFOs. It would only provide a working theory. I don’t know those triangular UFOs are dirigible, even nuclear ones.
“Their omission from the discussion is unwarranted. I read Marler’s book quickly and perhaps there’s some mention of any of this, but I would have missed it for brevity. He too quickly concludes that explanations not focused on ETs are the drawing board for some time…I’m no more omniscient than Colonel Alexander, but I’ll be more upfront about that. What I do know is that this technology deserves to be part of the discussion…(not) only about the delta-wing jet craft. He’s missed the Airbus.”

Heiser continued with a list of modern Lighter Than Air (LTA) aircraft that demonstrated the actuality of this generation of flight. The Department of Defense (DOD) had committed $35,000,000 to an “Aero” prototype. Heiser acknowledged several modern LTA crafts, such as Lockheed Martin’s “Sky tug.” Another is the “Space Blimp”:
“The orbital airship, also called the space blimp, is a proposed space transportation system that carries payloads to and from low Earth orbit…In the Airship to Orbit (ATO) design envisioned by JP Aerospace, there are three components. A conventional airship (Ascender) lifts payloads up to 30-40 kilometers above the ground – roughly the maximum altitude a conventional airship can achieve. At this altitude, the second component, a docking station (Dark Sky Station), acts as a resupply station for the third stage. The third stage is an ‘orbital airship’ (Orbital Ascender), which takes payloads to low earth orbit via an ion engine in three to nine days (i.e., it accelerates itself horizontally to orbital velocity and gains sufficient altitude). Their estimated marginal costs are one dollar per ton per mile of altitude, and their development costs thus far have been under one million dollars.”
Tom Levine of Levicom, LLC (levicom@comcast.net. PO Box 1948, Fair Oaks, California, 95628) had done extensive research into February 2007 triangular ‘flap’ that occurred over the multiple areas during that month. Basically, Levine believed the triangles were BigBlackDirigibles (BBDs) using unconventional and electrokinetic drives. He also pointed to similar crafts such as the Dynaship 2 Aereons.
Clyde Lewis outlined the opinions of UFO researcher Tim Mathews in UFOEvidence.Org:
“Tim Mathews is the ‘Angry young man’ of British ufology. He has upset the cozy state that the British scene had got into the post-Bufora/Alien Autopsy film and has earned a fast reputation for straight talking and cutting through much of the malaise the scene found itself in the last year. He believes that many sightings can be explained by secret aircraft and suppressed military tests. Mr. Mathews exposes a world of political maneuvering by the authorities to protect financial and political interests. He has exposed the existence of secret planes from year’s back, which would be considered ‘cutting edge’ today.
“Mathews believes that giving the label of an extraterrestrial craft to a UFO is premature, and has spent a lot of his time showing that Military Technology is the most likely answer behind the enigmatic UFO. His research has shown that a lot of flying disc and triangle technology comes from Nazi Germany. It has always been the objective of designers of aircraft to find a craft that can ascend and descend vertically. The craft would have to be circular without wings. Over time we have seen these craft and attributed their remarkable capabilities to some extra-terrestrial intelligence.”
Marler offered the testimony of several noted ufologists and scientists on the topic of UFOs and triangular crafts..
Researcher John Alexander
John Alexander had commented on the belief that secret military operations impinged upon sightings of triangular UFOs, having previously been the director of all USAF research and development at Wright-Patterson AFB: he asked a military official in the Secret Projects division about his research and triangular aircraft:
“He indicated we had nothing larger than the C-5 although the Russian Antonov AN-124 is even bigger. Neither of these approach the size reported on many occasions. I am also aware of a proposal by one of the topmost aerospace defense contractors to build a large semi-rigid, lighter-than-aircraft specifically for logistical purposes. They indicated they could not even get any military support for the concept and that was within the last fifteen years.”
Heiser noted that his research contradicted Alexander’s comments. He also wondered, despite outward appearances, if Alexander was privy to highest “Need to Know” information at many different security levels, or was simply being led away from “all” the facts.
“Certainly, many doubts remain, but I do believe that the U.S military has some sort of flying triangle, perhaps several types…even so, it is a long stretch to argue that all of the triangle reports can be attributed to ‘our’ technology. Frankly, many of these crafts do not appear to come from any conceivable terrestrial source.” (p. 245)
Richard Dolan – UFO Researcher
Investigator Ray D. Sanford said on November 18, 2014, that he likewise did not exclude an extraterrestrial source:
“Along with his gift of penetrating `trait analysis’ [See, especially, chapter 7, Establishing a Profile.], the author thoroughly demolishes the myth that the class of triangular and quasi-triangular objects defined in his analysis could be ‘black project’ vehicles. And Marler doesn’t just provide abundant descriptive evidence that the classes of evidence defined in his fascinating study constitute a group of vehicles unmatched by any terrestrially-sourced technology, he provides readers some examples that reveal state-of-the-art terrestrial technology as highly inferior by comparison.
“For example, on page 200, the author bolsters that conclusion with his highly appropriate reference from the Washington Post of August 15, 2012, headed ‘Hyper-sonic craft X-51A fails the latest test.’ That ‘Wave rider’ aircraft had to be launched from a B-52 bomber, incorporated a scram-jet combustion engine (producing a fairly conventional looking effect-trail behind it), and the flight had to be quickly scrapped due to a problem with a control surface.”
United Kingdom researcher George Wingfield pondered: “However scientists do speculate that travel through space and time might one day be possible if mass is somehow converted into energy in a non-destructive way that allows its reconstruction when it reaches its destination.”
“Much has been written on the subject (of the Rendlesham case…SE). However, this brief review serves to illustrate yet one more triangular UFO report,” said Marler, “that does not conform to the typical profile we are familiar with.”
THE CENTER FOR UFO STUDIES
Mark Rodeghier, Scientific Director for the Center for UFO Studies, the international study group originated by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, summarized conclusions for extraterrestrial origin of high strangeness triangular craft:
“As we compared triangle UFOs to the triangle – and – boomerang-shaped aircraft developed by the military, it became clear that the vast majority of ‘triangle UFOs’ were not conventional, or unconventional, technology. I described this with aviation experts and aviation journalists, and they were uniformly unaware of any terrestrial craft that could be causing these reports.” (p. 245.)
“Finally, the large, slow triangle UFOs, viewed by hundreds, even thousands, demonstrated how willfully the establishment, represented by government, academic, and the elite news media, can disregard something that is so ubiquitous, so visible, and so unearthly. It is possible not to see the elephant in the room, even when that elephant is a 300-foot triangular-shaped UFO.” (p. 248.)
MAKE OWN CONCLUSIONS
A thorough search of Marler’s book did reveal many new aspects of the on-going triangular UFO mystery. There were ample artwork and witness documents in the book.
Certainly, the bizarre and very strange performances of many triangular UFOs did tend to dismiss a normalterrestrial origin. The key word here is Normal. It may be possible that in the twists and turns of history there were hidden histories wherein are secreted a hybrid origin of ‘normal’ but also alien roots.
Fortean researchers Nick Redfern and Irene Bott summarized in AlienEncounters Magazine:
“There are two scenarios: either AVRO and British Aerospace have been flying highly advanced triangular shaped aircraft throughout Manchester and the surrounding areas for at least four decades (and if so, why, forty years on, is such technology not in widespread use?), or an unknown presence has been operating in our skies and utilising triangular aeroforms for more than four decades.”
Steve Erdmann suggested a “ThirdRail” explanation behind, not just triangular UFO sightings, but many reported high-strangeness UFOs: that an alien and secretive reality has coexistedalongside our own (more obvious) existence.
Human inventors were thinking along these designs and diagramming inventions around the turn of the 20th century: Electrical genius Nikola Tesla had programs for spacecraft.
From an interview with Nikola Tesla – New York Herald Tribune, Oct. 15, 1911:
“Not at all,” said Dr. Tesla. “The aeroplane is fatally defective. It is merely a toy–a sporting play-thing…The flying machine of the future–my flying machine–will be heavier than air, but it will not be an aeroplane. It will have no wings. It will be substantial, solid, stable…My flying machine will have neither wings nor propellers. You might see it on the ground and you would never guess that it was a flying machine. Yet it will be able to move at will through the air in any direction with perfect safety, higher speeds than have yet been reached, regardless of weather and oblivious of ‘holes in the air’ or downward. currents
“It will ascend in such currents if desired. It can remain absolutely stationary in the air, even in a wind, for a great length of time. Its lifting power will not depend upon any such delicate devices as the bird has to employ but upon positive mechanical action.”
“You will get stability through gyroscopes?” the interviewer asked.
“Through gyroscopic action of my engine, assisted by some devices I am not yet prepared to talk about,” he replied.
Dr. Tesla smiled an inscrutable smile.
“All I have to say on that point is that my airship will have neither gas bag, wings nor propellers,” he said. “It is the child of my dreams, the product of years of intense and painful toil and research. I am not going to talk about it any further. But whatever my airship may be, here at least is an engine that will do things that no other engine ever has done, and that is something tangible.”

“Until hard UFO evidence is presented for the general public’s consumption (e.g., actual UFO parts thereof), this mystery will continue,” said Marler. “However, the thirst for understanding to fuel the investigations and research until the day when a better understanding is made of this most intriguing phenomenon.” (p. 241)

(An ending footnote of interest in regards to the triangular sighting report mentioned on pages 204-206 about the December 19, 1967 triangle. The report, if I am correct, was discovered by Steve Erdmann while he visited Marler’s home during one of several visits. Erdmann and Marler were researching the files for relative data. Erdmann made a somewhat “Eureka” exclamation upon spotting the previously undiscovered December 19 report and presented it to Marler, to his joy; history in the making.)

The book opened with this stentorian statement: “In the three-year period which followed the murder of President Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald, 18 material witnesses died: six by gunfire, three in motor accidents, two by suicide, one from a cut throat, one from a karate chop to the neck, three from heart attacks and two from natural causes. An actuary engaged by the LondonTimes calculated the probability that at least 18 witnesses would die of any cause within 3 years of the JFK assassination as 1 in 100,000 trillion.” (Quoted in the promotion of the 1973 film ExecutiveAction.)
Authors Belzer and Wayne actuallysaidtheodds weremuchhigher: ‘‘The obvious counter-attack to that will be that there weren’t really 15 ‘true’ deaths of witnesses – we have verified that there were actually more than 15…The numbers get even worse, moving forward, because witness deaths increased dramatically at the time of the 1977 Congressional Investigation”; the authors quoted Richard Charnin in “JFK – RelatedDeaths” and “JFKAssassination: AProbabilityAnalysisofUnnaturalWitnessDeaths.”
“In the 14 years following the JFK assassination, there was a minimum of 70 unnatural deaths out of approximately 1,400 witnesses. The probability is 1.40E-33 or 1 in 714,705,498,316,173,300,000,000,000,000,000.”
ASTRONOMICAL
The authors further quoted Richard Charnin: “That number is greater than all of the stars in the universe and grains of sand on earth. There are an estimated 300 billion trillion (3E23) stars in the universe. That’s three followed by 23 zeroes: 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. There are an estimated 700 thousand trillion (7E17) grains of sand on earth or 7 followed by 17 zeroes; 700,000,000,000,000,000.”
In an email to the authors, dated December 4, 2011, Charnin stated emphatically, “I have proved mathematically what many have long suspected: the scores of convenient JFK unnatural witness deaths cannot be coincidental.”
The House Select Committee on Assassinations (1976-1978) may have revealed even further “witnesses”: “Some of the documents are still sealed; scheduled to be released at a future date. It was basically what is known in intelligence parlance as a ‘limited hangout’; they admitted it was a conspiracy but slammed the door on delving deeper into it.”
RISING BODY COUNT
The authors portrayed further suspicious deaths. For example, six high-level FBI officials connected to the investigation of the JFK assassination died during a six-month period in 1977 shortly before testifying before the Congressional Committee. Charnin described such “bizarre series of events” as “mathematically impossible.”
The authors contended that ultimately the deaths should have included additional witnesses to the crime, reporters investigating the case, U.S Intelligence linked to the matter, mafia linked to the crime and/or to the U.S. Intelligence. In that matrix, the authors selected fifty classic deaths in which they presented their case, typical “witness deaths” that ranged from Officer J.D. Tippit to Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
(In-depth analyses invite all of the readers to go beyond this review where the readers can examine the cases up close and at their leisure: The reader will have to review Hit List and its sources to determine the situation for their personal conclusions.)
SOME TYPICAL CASES
The death of police officer J.D. Tippit on November 22, 1963, paraded as the lynch pin to proving the guilt of Lee Harvey Oswald, proved the opposite upon a close examination of the evidence by the authors.
J.D. TIPPiT
The authors speculated that both Tippit and Oswald were Intelligence operatives. “Lee Harvey Oswald was operational with U.S Military Intelligence.” (Tosh Plumlee, a former pilot for the CIA and a Military Intelligence veteran in under-cover intelligence operations.) Both Oswald and Tippit had somehow operated in support of “broader US intelligence operations.” One of those operations, unbeknownst to Oswald as a target, was that of being “sheep-dipped” as a possible “patsy” in the assassination. According to Oswald’s New Orleans girlfriend, Judyth Vary Baker (Me and Lee: How I Came to Know, Love and Lose Harvey Oswald, Judyth Vary Baker, 2011, Trine Day), Oswald began to trace the assassination plans and told Baker that he would do something to abort it. Until he could have accomplished that, Oswald faithfully followed operative orders, and he believed he was gathering covert intelligence and implementing operative plans. Tippit also was available for any “intervention.” (pp. 20-21)
One: Oswald was seen by his landlady at a bus stop at Tenth and Patton at 1:04 p.m. Tippit was shot a mile away at 1:08 p.m.: that was a ‘mile’ away, and Oswald was waiting for the northbound bus and headed in the oppositedirection.
Two: Eyewitness testimony described a man talking to Tippit that did not fit Oswald’s description. Six witnesses saw not one, but two men involved in the shooting of Officer Tippit. Mrs. Acquilla Clemens described two men; one man was “short and kind of heavy…kind of chunky.” Warren Reynolds and Domingo Benavides were further witnesses.
Three: A jacket discarded by the suspect/murderer at the Tippit crime scene was not Oswald’s jacket, as testified by Marina Oswald.
Four: The Revolver taken from Oswald at the Texas Theater was not the gun used to kill Tippit. Oswald’s revolver had a defective firing pin that completely prevented it from firing a bullet. The bullets in Oswald’s revolver were never conclusively linked to the four bullets in officer Tippit.
Five: James Files, the bodyguard and driver to Chuck Nicoletti, identified Gary Marlow, a highly professional cold-blooded killer, whose mission that day was to murder Oswald to preventhis further involvement: Something obviously went wrong.
Six: A fake wallet deliberately left at the crime scene with the name “Alex Hidell” – Alex Hidell was a “floating alias” that was used by many operatives as an operational covername.
Seven: James Files believed Oswald was on his way to meet his Controller at the Texas Theater (Files said that may have been David Phillips).
LEE BOWERS

Bowers was a Tower Man with the Union Terminal Company and stationed in his 14-foot tower directly behind the Grassy Knoll on the day of the assassination. Bowers observed strange automobiles and persons near the wooden stockade fence.
On August 9, 1966, driven off the road by a black car, Lee Bowers was killed when his car crashed into a concrete abatement in Midlothian, Texas. He told the ambulance people that unknown culprits at a coffee shop had drugged him.
Bowers told his friend, Walter Rischel, that he had specific information that was more cogent, and was afraid to “go public.” He had disappeared for two days. “…one of his fingers was missing on one of his hands, which his brother, Monty, could not trace to any hospital, clinic or doctor’s office.” The mysterious auto accident shortly followed that incident. Bower’s widow confessed: “They told him not to talk.”
Charles Good, a former member of the Texas Highway Patrol, investigated the incident: He concluded that culprits forced Bowers off the road.
MARY PINCHOT MEYER
A killer shot Mary Meyer to death on October 12, 1964.
Mary Meyer, former wife of Cord Meyer, a CIA operative and principal handler of OperationMockingbird, an infiltration of major U.S media. The Meyers were also close friends with James Angleton and his wife. Angleton was head of Counter Intelligence at the CIA.
Meyer filed for divorce in 1958. Following that, she felt under surveillance and unknown culprits invaded her apartment. She blamed James Angleton.
Mary also had a rather serious love affair with President Kennedy; they shared many intimate details (as well as marijuana and LSD; page 145). Legend speculated that Mary learned quite a bit from James Angleton. She was upset about the “absence of authentic information” in the Warren Commission. She felt that it was a “whitewash.”
“Mary left her home on the morning of October 12, 1964, to go out for her morning run. Someone shot her twice at direct range with a .38; the first shot was toward the back of the head and the second shot was to her heart. She died instantly.”
A Raymond Crump was set-up to take the ‘fall.’ It was a smear job. The trial was a sham. The CIA and President Lyndon Johnson (as well as President Kennedy’s “power circles”) were topics that were “never allowed to be spoken of in the courtroom.” Hidden was the fact that “Mary appeared to be killed by a professional hit man.”
Ben and Toni Bradlee confronted James Angleton at Mary’s apartment, all looking for Mary’s diary – a diary that disappeared. A bloodstained sweater also disappeared.
Peter Janney summarized in Mary’s Mosaic (Skyhorse, 2012) that William L. Mitchell (an alias) was a member of the “Army special forces – the order was given to ‘terminate’ her.”
GARY UNDERHILL
Gary Underhill was a veteran CIA agent. His alleged suicide was on May 8, 1964, but Underhill was right-handed “and it would be extremely awkward – not to mention totally pointless — for a right-handed person to commit suicide by shooting themselves behind the left ear.” (p. 112)
Underhill left no doubt that someone was after him: “This country is too dangerous for me. I’ve got to get on a boat. Oswald is a patsy. They set him up. It’s too much. The bastards have done something outrageous. They’ve killed the President! I’ve been listening and hearing things. I couldn’t believe they’d get away with it, but they did…a real violence group. I know who they are…they know I know.” (Paul Golais, April 8, 2001, The Citizen’s Voice.)
Underhill confided to a friend. The friend said, “Underhill said that he knew the people involved (and that they knew he knew) and he fled Washington for his life…a small clique in the CIA was responsible…” (Gary Richard Schoener, “A Legacy of Fear,” May 2000, Fair Play Magazine).

The authors speculated that the highly secret CIA and military Intelligence Unit named Executive Action had turned against Kennedy and killed him. (pp. 113-114)
OSWALD, RUBY, BANISTER
U.S Senator Richard Schweiker, Co-Chairman of a U.S Senate Subcommittee to investigate the JFK assassination in 1975, said in 2007 that Oswald defected to the Soviet Union in 1959 as part of the False Defector Program. Author Joan Mellon confirmed the Top-Secret CIA/ONI False Defector Program. Oswald infiltrated the Fair Play for Cuba Committee and Alpha 66 anti-Castro Cubans, simultaneously joining pro and anti-Castro groups. Oswald strongly denied having shot Kennedy and said he was set-up as a “patsy.” His recorded words subjected to new voice analysis technologies that showed that he was actually telling the truth. Mobster Jack Ruby, who seriously hooked up with just about everybody suspected of playing a major role in the assassination, shot Oswald. (p. 29)
Jack Ruby, the murderer of Lee Harvey Oswald, maintained throughout his incarceration that a product of bio-weapons experimentation at his time would murder Ruby. A well-known MK-Ultra expert was to perform the murder. Ruby died of cancer on January 3, 1967.

Ruby knew the entire key “players” who visited him at his jail: MK-Ultra was the Top Secret CIA program to control an individual’s will, even in the assassination drama, including Chicago mobsters, anti-Castro CIA agents, and the three top mafia bosses. Ruby and Oswald shared connections to the CIA and the mafia as well as also experiences in the Cuban crisis in the USA.

“Ruby was clearly in fear for his life,” said the authors, “both before and after the shooting of Oswald….he was not safe in a Dallas jail. He pleaded with Chief Justice Earl Warren to take him to Washington, D.C…” where he could testify.
Ruby was suspicious of Vice-President Lyndon Johnson and he said he had knowledge of conspirators in high places. He told psychiatrist Werner Teuter that the assassination was “an act of overthrowing the government…I was framed to kill Oswald.” Ruby told the Warren Commission: “…I tell you that a whole new form of government is going to take over the country…”

Guy Banister ran a detective agency at 531 Lafayette, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Banister had been involved with far-ranging and under-bellied patina of anti-Communist and Castroist party-liners. Banister’s mistress and employee, Delphine Roberts, said that both Oswald and David Ferrie frequently associated with Banister. Banister’s private investigator, Jack Martin, said that Oswald and Ferrie were part in the Kennedy scenario. Martin told District Attorney Jim Garrison: “The problem is that we’re going to bring the goddamned Federal government down on our backs. Do I need to spell it out? I could get killed – and so could you.”
Culprits ransacked Banister’s office and some files disappeared after his death.
MANY DEATHS
“It has become pretty obvious at this point that Oswald was set-up to ‘take the fall’ for the assassination of President Kennedy,” said the authors, “even though he was set up as a component of the conspiracy to all the players in the drama…the perfect patsy. From that perspective, it all makes perfect sense, and that scenario also explains the National Security cover-up that followed the assassination of JFK.”

Warren Commission apologists are reduced to irrelevancy; the proof of conspiracy is overwhelming and beyond any doubt. REVEL REVELATIONS
Revel summarized the mathematical statistics: 1400 JFK-related witnesses, the probability of at least:
– 15 unnatural deaths within one year of the assassination: 1 in 167 trillion. – 33 unnatural deaths within three years: 1 in 137 trillion, trillion. – 70 unnatural deaths from 1964-77: 1 in 714 million, trillion, trillion. – 40 homicides from 1964-77: 1 in a billion, trillion, trillion, and trillion.
Five hundred and fifty two Warren Commission witnesses: – Exactly 10 homicides in three years: 1 in 31,000 trillion. – Exactly 14 homicides from 1964-1977: 1 in 4,000 trillion.

Revel went on and said about the 34 – 39 deaths mentioned in the book by Belzer and Wayne that six top FBI officials linked to the Kennedy assassination had died in a six-month period prior to their scheduled testimony. Gary Revel was also a Special Investigator commissioned for the official investigation into the Martin Luther King, Jr. assassination: Revel said he had continually tried to unravel the bizarre happenings of that year (1977). Revel’s brother, his cousin’s husband, William Sullivan, and five other FBI agents or former FBI officials, who could have been valuable to his investigation, died mysteriously or killed that year. Revel said that the deaths of these FBI Special Agents could have been more significant than realized because all six of these FBI SAS identified to Revel as being ‘important witnesses for the House Select Committee on Assassinations’ (Hit List, p. 206).

“What bonded the victims together?” asked Samantha Reba (6/20/2013). Reba answered: “The Truth! All of the victims knew the truth and they knew that the people who did it knew. The victims had been able to put two and two together. But before they could go to court and testify, they were silenced forever. All documents from the victims that may have contained the truth or anything evidence have disappeared from this Earth. The JFK assassination is a conspiracy whose truth will never come to light. Those who knew: knew too much.”
Mark Alfred said on July 15, 2013, “If that ‘lone nut’ killed the President and was bumped off by an over-reacting Kennedy family sympathizer (Jack Ruby), why would this cause the switching out of the rifle originally found for the one history now accepts as ‘the murder weapon’? Why is there evidence of somebody pretending to be Oswald running around Dallas at gun ranges and taking test-drives (Oswald could not drive)? Why was evidence messed up and switched?
“If it was only a crazy guy with a rifle how could that ‘truth’ have caused the government’s own photographs of the autopsy to NOT MATCH UP with the government’s own x-rays supposedly taken at the same time, of the same head with the same wounds?
“This is a valuable book, and it’s put together well. It synthesizes years and generations of findings to make the point that things should not have happened the way they did, and certainly not with help from some bad men. The fact that some of these bad men tried to justify their murders by justifying them with spy babble or face-saving rhetoric only makes their personal foulness and depravity stink even more. People who had not been given the right — they decided to change the government of our country. How dare them! Amos 5:24: ‘But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.’”
“I’ve found you don’t have to make anything up,” Belzer said. “Reality is so complex and fascinating and horrible and beautiful. I’ve been studying this case my whole adult life, and I’m still finding stuff about the case because, over time, things come out…People say you can’t keep a secret. Well, you can. But after 50 years, the secret starts coming out.”
As for why they killed Kennedy, Belzer said it was primarily due to Kennedy’s interest in pulling America out of Vietnam, which caused threats to the Elite with those looking to profit off America’s venture abroad. Belzer explained why the cover-up occurred, Belzer said: “I believe a lot of people, for noble, patriotic reasons, covered up the real story because we didn’t want the world to think we’re a ‘banana republic.’”
“We’re at the height of the Cold War, and the president’s head is exploded in broad daylight, so they had to get this patsy who was clearly set up. That’s common knowledge that Oswald was a fake defector and was a patsy…Ninety percent of the American people believe there was a conspiracy involved in the assassination of the president. The other 10 percent work for the media or the government, probably. The public knows. Most people believe Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone at the very least.”
Belzer’s fascination with the story was because “the Kennedy assassination is one of the ghostliest parts of our history.”
Award-winning photojournalist, Gene Barnes shared his life and times as a camera operator for NBCNews during the radical 1950’s and 1960’s. His stories were in-depth and thought-provoking actions and comments that we still talk about to this day. He was in Dallas on that day that killers shot Kennedy. Early news came over the wires. Multiple questions gripped the minds of the reporters: Who was Oswald? Had Oswald connections to the mob? Eventually, answers seemed to come slowly and laboriously: Oswald seemed to have been a CIA operative who had fronted as a communist, worked out of New Orleans, establishing his connections; but why would he want to kill Kennedy? Others speculated that Castro was involved. Speculation had built up.
Newsman Gene Barnes
Barnes followed leads as swiftly as they developed. Barnes was thankful that many of the leads were unsuccessful, for if successful, he said, they would have drawn them deeper into the web of danger. One incident was when Robin MacNeil and Barnes went to Jack Ruby’s apartment to photograph and see what we could uncover. He said he recalled Ruby’s sister as being at the apartment and she yelled obscenities at them through the open apartment door. She ordered them to leave. Barnes said he later felt protected that they did not stay: people associated with Ruby or his apartment seemingly died in assorted fashions. Network Chief Bill McAndrew warned them that their investigative reporting endangered them and ultimately would lead to their demise.
At the time, NBC was the only news agency that seemed to mention David Ferrie’s name. Ferrie’s background revealed that he was a flagrant homosexual (with heavy dark painted eyebrows), and was an airplane pilot. A daisy chain of information concerning Ferrie soon developed; some from the news desk, some from fellow cinematographers, and some from neighborhood gossip, but it all eventually untangled in scarce, spooky, mystic fashion. There was talk about the possibility that Ferrie was allegedly involved with a plan to fly two or three men out of Dallas right after the assassination from a secret site. Later, Barnes heard that Ferrie turned out to be the pilot who flew Mafia boss Carlos Marcello back to New Orleans from Puerto Rico. Robert Kennedy had Federal agents dump Marcello in Puerto Rico because Marcello kept insisting he was Puerto Rican, not Sicilian.

New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison launched a conspiracy trial involving Clay Shaw whose secret lifestyle involved macabre people sporting leather, whips and chains, and bizarre homosexual paraphernalia. Ferrie was to be his first witness: Investigators found David Ferrie dead in his apartment the day before. The headlines concerning Ferrie’s death did not surprise Barnes; Barnes speculated that it seemed that anyone connected to the Kennedy assassination in almost any fashion contributed to the growing dead-body-count.

Robert Reckmeyer, Consultation Services, as a reformed criminal of marijuana sales, had long ago paid his debt to society and reemerged as a solid citizen now dedicated to combating High Priority Criminals. “The Zapruder film haunts our consciousness,” said Joseph McBride, a film historian (and the author of Into the Nightmare: My Search for the Killers of President John F. Kennedy andOfficer J.D. Tippit). “The maze-like element of the assassination can become a wilderness of mirrors. When you begin to understand something, it opens up a whole different way of looking at it. It can become dizzying.”
Phil Butler is editor-in-chief of Everything PR and senior partner at Pamil Visions PR: his summation sentiments the thoughts of millions:
“I’ve always known JFK was the victim of a conspiracy. Even as a kid I never believed a lone gunman, the weaselly looking Oswald, capable of downing the most powerful man on Earth. Seeing the chaos that ensued, remembering the tall figure of a leader coming to us through our radios and TVs, telling us to ‘ask not,’ living in the promised land of shiny Cadillac’s and miraculous devices, with a whole planet blossoming into a potential Utopia, there was just no way. We smelled something really, really wrong, nobody needed CBS’s Walter Cronkite to reveal the ‘the’ killers, his early reporting of the events, they were noise in the background of a word of mouth utterance by a whole society. It’s one still faintly heard. ‘Who killed the Kennedys? After all it was me and you,’ as the Rolling Stones song goes.”
The authors quoted the late District Attorney Jim Garrison that our society had evolved into a proto-fascist state, emerged from prosperity: “It’s based on power and inability to put human goals and human conscience above the dictates of the state.” Garrison spoke of Eisenhower’s “Military-Industrial-Complex…which now dominates every aspect of our life…what happens to the individual who dissents? In Nazi Germany, he was physically destroyed; here, the process is more subtle, but the end results can be the same.”

TRAIL OF EVIDENCE.
Donderi’s biography said that he graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA and BSC in biological psychology; he was an applied psychologist for IBM Corporation as a developer of navigation displays for the B-52 bomber, also an Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at McGill University. He stated that his professional expertise has concluded “that some people have come into involuntary close contact with extraterrestrial, and I think that government statements about UFOs conceal more than they reveal.”.

The author started on a series of UFO cases that he personally gave credence to, some are “classic” UFO cases, others are fairly unknown: the summer, 1973 Ottawa UFO and humanoid sighting by Mr. and Mrs. X, the July 17, 1957 Rb-47 case, the October 18, 1973 Coyne helicopter incident, “Low, Big, and Slow” V-shaped or triangular UFOs, Belgium, 1989, Yukon territory UFO of December 11, 1996 (“…diameter of this round UFO was nearly one mile, and its estimated height from top to bottom was one third of a mile.”), the Fall, 1976 Tehran UFO, and a host of other classical cases..
INQUIRY STAGES.
The author ventured through the various stages and investigators through the years, beginning more or less with Donald E. Keyhoe, a retired Marine Corps officer and pilot (December 26, 1949), the various UFO groups, both civilian and government, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), The Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS), the hallmark group of the Air Force Technical Adviser and astronomer, J. Allen Hynek, continuing into the Air Force Project Blue Book and further into the Condon UFO Committee (1966-1968), the Congressional Hearing of 1968, as well as the Advancement of Science Symposium (AAAS) of 1969, and others.
Donderi pretty well accepted Hynek’s seven classes of UFO reports, including abduction by occupants. He acknowledged that the contactees of the 50s-60s were “self-delusion” (Page 76). He slid into findings of UFO and abduction researchers George O’banski and Budd Hopkins. Donderi built a number of, what scientist R.V. Jones referred to as, evidence “touchstones.”.
ABDUCTION TOUCHSTONES.
Donderi considered the Barney and Betty Hill case of September 19, 1961 as the “Index Case” (though he stated that Betty’s grandiose post-1961 claims, “…sometimes verifiably, sometimes with more imagination than common sense,” worked against her). He went on to mention similar cases of abduction that would tend to substantiate these as “touchstone” cases: the Buff Ledge Camp, August 7, 1968 abductions, Burlington, Vermont, the Linda Cortile November 30, 1989 abduction, Manhattan, the Flagler, Colorado, November 7, 1989 abduction case, among others..
The Barney and Betty Hill Abduction Case .
The author toured the various “commonalities” in Touchstone cases. By the time he added all the important features (pp. 128-129) of the Touchstone cases, he also disclosed narratives that didn’t seem all that far afield from the Adamski, Bethuram, Angelucci-type contactees he so decried (pp. 17-18), “….include a tall insect-like creature acting in the role of examiner, and occupants whose facial features are a blend of a terrestrial reptile and conventional humanoid and whose skin is rough and greenish.”.
ABDUCTION RESEARCHERS.
Don Donderi said that there was “no reason to doubt the competence or veracity of the abductees or the reporters, and the information presented about those six cases is credible.” (p. 130) He pointed to a number of tests administered by professional psychologists. Donderi said that the research also indicated that the “abduction reports” were made by persons who were “no more, no less” involved in fantasy-prone tendencies than “anyone else.” (In Steve Erdmann’s purview of individuals, UFOlogical or otherwise, he has seen conservative and so-called respectable people fabricate and lie quite convincingly: some of their ‘stories’ are quite creative, and their motivations are often hidden and only known to themselves.)
A large portion of Donderi’s concern was the use and authenticity of hypnotism. He stated that the reported abductions can be attributed to something that “did actually happen” or is an “unwitting fabrication” by a “collaborative effort” by UFO reporters and the researcher/handlers. Even including the similarities and consistencies of abductee stories, Steve Erdmann contended that this arena is basically hearsay without the hard physical evidence: hypnotism, may be a part of, but certainly not the crux, and was no substitute.
“Jenny Randles also gave a strong warning to the use of hypnosis in suspected cases of abductions – Hypnosis destroys evidence and creates memories. It is not a serum of veracity, she also said.”
“From this data several conclusions emerged. Various witnesses explained their doubts about hypnosis. They felt it made them more confused, not less so. They were unclear of the reality status of their experience. Some felt positively harmed psychologically by the trauma of hypnosis.”
When the larger scenery of reported UFOs are taken into account, more than the six cases that Donderi considered “touchstone,” must be contended with. Humanoid cases described a large variety of UFOnaut appearances and actions, some that didn’t seem to directly relate to the “steps” or “angles” in Donderi’s recommended cases. UFO researcher Jacques Vallee has long contended and compared some UFO cases surrounding occupants to folklore legends about elves, haunts, ghosts, urban-tale-like stories; Vallee, a computer scientist and prolific writer on the subject, demurred, and he gave five reasons why, to quote:
“(1) Unexplained close encounters are far more numerous than required for any physical survey of the earth; (2) The humanoid body structure of the alleged ‘aliens‘ is not likely to have originated on another planet and is not biologically adapted to space travel; (3) The reported behavior in thousands of abduction reports contradicts the hypothesis of genetic or scientific experimentation on humans by an advanced race; (4) The extension of the phenomenon throughout recorded history demonstrates that UFOs are not a contemporary phenomenon; and (5) The apparent ability of UFOs to manipulate space and time suggests radically different and richer alternatives.”.

But by 1969, when he published Passport to Magonia (Regnery), Vallee’s assessment of the UFO phenomenon had undergone a major shift. Much to the bewilderment of the “scientific ufologists” who had seen him as one of their heroes, Vallee now seemed to be have shied away from the extraterrestrial hypotheses and promulgated the radical view that UFOs are paranormal in nature and a modern space age manifestation of a phenomenon which assumed mysterious guises.
“When the underlying archetypes are extracted,” Vallee wrote, “the saucer myth is seen to coincide to a remarkable degree with the fairy-faith of Celtic countries…religious miracles…and the widespread belief among all peoples concerning entities whose physical and psychological descriptions place them in the same category as the present-day ufonauts.”.
Vallee, in fact, has co-authored a book on historical UFOs wherein the authors relayed accounts that are intertwined with ancient gods and angels and other mystical beings. Some cases contained far more fantastical elements than those given in the six Touchstone cases Donderi offered. “They reveal that unidentified flying objects have had a major impact not only on popular culture but on our history, on our religion, and on the models of the world humanity has formed from deepest antiquity,” said researcher David Taylor. “What this book does is put transient aerial phenomena in a proper historical context. English researcher Jenny Randles took a look at the question: “Do we need the concept of aliens in the modern UFO pantheon or are these beings just a space age equivalent of the dragons and the fairies – a once culturally relevant motif, that suited a particular time and place from which we have since moved on?”
Likewise, taking into account the large variety and diversity of the UFO phenomena, it was suspected that scientist Paul R. Hill’s theorems on UFO sightings (Unconventional Flying Objects, 1995) are not fulfilling “the goal being to build a coherent understanding” about UFO ‘function.’ His approach was a little too pat, particularly if – in actuality – UFOs are from different ‘causes,’ not a single origin..
Are UFO Abductions Just Fairy Creatures?.

The UFO phenomenon described antics of the UFO landscape that went beyond suggested conventional Touchstone depictions. There are many examples, but we will take just one: The Kelly–Hopkinsville encounter, also known as the Hopkinsville Goblins Case, and to a lesser extent the Kelly Green Men Case, was the name given to a series of connected incidents of alleged close encounters with supposedextraterrestrial beings on the evening of August 21, 1955. The following was a summation from Wikipedia:
“On the evening of August 21, 1955, Billy Ray Taylor of Pennsylvania was visiting the Sutton family of Kentucky. The Sutton family home was a rural farmhouse located near the towns of Kelly and Hopkinsville, in Christian County, Kentucky (the farmhouse still stands today although the Sutton family moved soon after the incident). There were a total of eleven people in the house that night, including the children of the two families..

“The Sutton farmhouse had no running water, causing Billy Ray Taylor to go outside to the water pump for a drink at about 7:00 p.m. Taylor said he observed strange lights in the sky to the west, which he believed to be an unusual craft. He described it as disc-shaped in appearance, and featured lights on its side that had ‘all of the colors of the rainbow’. He ran back to the house excitedly telling the others about his ‘flying saucer’ sighting, but no one believed him; instead thinking that he had become overly excited after seeing a vivid ‘shooting star.’
“At about 8.00 p.m., the families began hearing strange and unexplained noises outside. The Sutton family dog which was in the yard outside began barking loudly and then hid under the house, where it remained until the next day. Going outside a few minutes later with their guns, Billy Ray Taylor and Elmer ‘Lucky’ Sutton then asserted that they saw a strange creature emerge from the nearby trees.
“When the creature approached to within about 20 feet, the two men began shooting at it, one using a shotgun, the other man using a .22rifle. There was a noise ‘sounding like bullets being rattled about in a metal drum.’ and the creature, they said, then flipped over and fled into the darkness and shadows. Sure that they had wounded the creature, Lucky and Solomon went out to look for it. Hendry writes that as the men were stepping from the porch, they saw one of the creatures perched on an awning. They again shot at the creature, and it was knocked from the roof. Again they heard the rattling noise, although the creature was apparently unharmed..

“Lucky and Solomon returned to the house in a disturbed state. Within minutes, Lucky’s brother J. C. Sutton said that he saw the same creature (or at least a similar creature) peer into a window in the home; J. C. and Solomon shot at it, breaking the window, whereupon it too flipped over and fled. The creatures could be heard loudly scurrying about on the roof, and scratching as though trying to break through. For the next few hours, the witnesses asserted that the creatures repeatedly approached the home, either popping up at the doorway or at windows in an almost playful manner, only to be shot at each time they did. The witnesses were unsure as to how many of the creatures there were; except for one sighting of two at the same time, all other sightings were of only one, although the first story claimed twelve to fifteen. At one point the witnesses shot one of the beings nearly point blank, and again would insist that the sound resembled bullets striking a metal bucket. The floating creatures’ legs seemed to be atrophied and nearly useless, and they appeared to propel themselves with a curious hip-swaying motion, steering with their arms. Clark writes that ‘if the creatures were in a tree or on the roof when hit [by gunfire], they would float, not fall, to the ground.’”
Michele Carlton covered the story for the Kentucky New Era News, describing the impish and circus-type behavior:
“‘Lucky’ Sutton and other family members said they had a gun battle with the creatures that lasted for hours. Most of the Sutton family members who said they fought the aliens off with shotguns are deceased. However, Hawkins and her younger brother, Elmer Sutton Jr., of Trigg County, said their father shared his Kelly experience with them. Hawkins, 41, and Sutton, 35, are the children of “Lucky” Sutton and Glorine Powell, of Trigg County. Their father died on Dec. 5, 1995.
“He talked to me about it because I was one of the last ones to leave home,” the younger Sutton said. “I prodded him about it a lot. A lot of times he wouldn’t talk about it. If I’d catch him in the right mood, he’d sit down and talk for hours about it. When he did, I’d listen. To be honest with you, he knew some day he’d die. I guess he wanted one of us to know the truth.”
Mankind has made tremendous advances since the days of Ben Franklin: just look at the adventures since Orville and Wilbur Wright in 1904 in aviation alone. Ray Kurzweil extended that progress to its natural progression and he called it “TheLaw of AcceleratingReturns” (March 7, 2001.): “An analysis of the history of technology shows that technological change is exponential, contrary to the common-sense ‘intuitive linear’ view. So we won’t experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century — it will be more like 20,000 years of progress (at today’s rate).”
If superior UFO Races are also bound by TheLawofAcceleratingReturns and they have been far advanced beyond terrestrial technology hundreds of years prior (UFOs by which radar has tracked at over 9,000 miles per hour and accelerations in the range of 1000Gs [p. 153], possibly approaching the speed of light), wouldn’t their technology have well advanced beyond “campy” and “cartoonish” depictions? Compare the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci to our present-day SR-71 Stealth craft: multiply that 2000 times..
Isaac Asimov.
A similar theme was voiced in Isaac Asimov’s science-fiction story “The LastQuestion,” a tale of trillions of years of evolution and how mankind will evolve from trapping the energy of stars with 100% efficiency, Hyper-stellar travel, emigration to other Galaxies, Body-Mind separation and fusing the mind with an all-knowing, omniscient computer, a Self-correcting and Self -Adjusting machine capable of learning and building its own predecessor, had become so powerful as to recreate light after all the stars entropy in the end and the universe begins again.
“The story is interesting and enters the black hole of Physics and Religion simultaneously.” It is about “How mankind will evolve, pioneer in space travel and set foot in all the distant Galaxies with the help of Analog Computers (AC).” “The stars and Galaxies died and snuffed out, and space grew black after ten trillion years of running down…One by one Man fused with AC, each physical body losing its mental identity in a manner that was somehow not a loss but a gain.”
And So, The Scientists Posed “The Last Question” to the Computer.
With that type of LawsofAcceleratingReturns: Where would that presently leave the UFO occupants?
Steve Erdmann had not debated UFOs as an intelligent and superior phenomena, he just debated how the evidence should be handled and what it encompassed. Why should such a civilization need “cartoonish” artifacts? Why would it need “domed” aircraft with “spinning rim lights,” and one–pieceoutfits with “backpacks” (Wllie Begay and Guy Tossie, Ririe, Idaho, November 2, 1967)? Would they be far advanced beyond “ovaldoorways,” medical “probes,” “books,” (pp. 96-97) “tables,” and “benches” (pp. 113, 114, 116); for that matter, would they need ramps, panoramic portholes, flashinglights, as if a “display” as seen in various assorted descriptions, much like scenes out of a 1950’sscience–fiction movie? UFO vehicle designs seemed to far out-number the innovations seen in the terrestrial automobile market..
Some UFOs seem to be Replicas of Our Own Conventionality.
SCIENTIFIC FEAR.
Donderi seemed more cogent when he spoke of the “paradigms” of science, and how “fear” of the UFO phenomena caused our place in the universe as being threatened. “The existing paradigm constraints normal science, regardless of the evidence.” (p. 164) He said: “Those institutions administered by a meritocracy of capable people: the cultural elites.” (p. 190)
The question arose, however: just how much “fear” and “ignorance” are involved with humans if governments have crashed UFOs in their possession? (pp. 176-184) Donderi went into detail concerning the 1947 Roswell UFO crash.
“The small group of senior scientists who helped the government in the immediate postwar period was the people most likely to be asked for advice about the security threat posed by technologically superior UFOs,” said Donderi, “but who the UFO overseers were then, and who they are now, is not known. It is one of the better-kept secrets of the U.S government.”
